BACKGROUND:
Canada’s triple-medal performance in bobsleigh at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games
was all Tim needed to see to know the sport was perfect for this talented athlete
from Ontario. Following the Games, Tim wasted no time researching how to get
involved, and he learned of a talent I.D. camp being held in Toronto. The rest is
history.
Competing in his third full season in bobsleigh, Tim is looking to represent Canada
well into the future while enjoying his second season with Team Spring on the World
Cup. Tim was part of Canada’s overall America’s Cup winning team in both the twoand four-man events in 2010, and regularly placed in the top-10 in their first season
on the World Cup two years ago. Tim was part of a medal-winning squad that won
the bronze medal in the four-man World Cup race in Whistler, and the Canadian
bronze-medal winning squad at the 2013 World Team Championships. He continues
to keep his focus on representing Canada at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
Tim grew up playing hockey, basketball and football. He attended the University of
Guelph where he played five years of CIAU football for the Gryphons. Holding a
degree in Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in sociology and criminal justice, Tim
plans to embark on a career as a firefighter when his bobsleigh days are done.
Tim enjoys listening to music, watching movies and hanging out with friends. He
spends his offseason at the cottage wakeboarding and fishing. Tim also enjoys
snowboarding and pond hockey.

À regarder le Canada gagner trois médailles au bobsleigh aux Jeux olympiques
d’hiver 2010, Tim s’est épris de ce sport qui complétait parfaitement ses talents.
Après les Jeux, Tim s’est mis tout de suite à découvrir la démarche à suivre pour
concourir au bobsleigh; il a appris qu’un camp d’identification de talent se tiendrait à
Toronto, et sa carrière est partie.
Athlete Profile/Biographie d’athlète
Concourant en troisième saison complète de bobsleigh cette année, Tim vise à
représenter le Canada pour pas mal d’années à venir, tout en apprenant et
s’adonnant à sa deuxième saison avec Équipe Spring en Coupe du Monde. En 2010,
Tim était membre de l’équipe canadienne victorieuse au classement général de
Coupe d’Amérique et en bob à deux et en bob à quatre, et durant sa première saison
de Coupe du Monde, son équipe finissait régulièrement dans le top-10. Tim a été
membre d’une équipage de bobsleigh à quatre médaillé de bronze en Coupe du
Monde de bobsleigh à Whistler, ainsi que l’équipage canadien médaillé de bronze au
Championnat du Monde par équipes 2013. Cette année, il tient à représenter le
Canada aux Jeux Olympiques d’hiver 2014.
Tim a grandi en jouant au hockey, au ballon panier et au football. Il a fait ses études
à l’Université de Guelph où pendant cinq ans il était membre de l’équipe de football
des Gryphons dans le SIC. Diplômé aux Arts se spécialisant en sociologie et justice
pénale, Tim compte devenir pompier quand il aura fini de concourir au bobsleigh.
Tim passe son temps libre à écouter de la musique, regarder des films et sortir avec
les copains. Il passe l’été au chalet où il s’amuse à faire de la planche nautique ou à
faire de la pêche. En hiver, il aime le surf des neiges et le hockey sur étang.
