Melina, 40, is the most famous voice in French radio. On her evening show, she cheekily and
humorously solves her listeners’ emotional and sexual problems.
But, in her everyday life, she is obnoxious, cannot stand being touched, and lives an old maid
existence in chic districts of Paris. When looking for a mother she never knew, she finds out
that she actually lives with her large family in the suburbs. Deciding to finally meet her
mother, she gets in touch with the members of this family without disclosing her identity...
Smart and sensitive French dramedy features Karin Viard at the top of her game. The

BIOGRAPHIES:
Karin Viard – Melinda
Karin Viard is a multi-award winning French actress having won two César Awards (Haut les
coeurs and Embrassez qui vous voudrez) and been nominated for a further three. She also won
the Best Actress Award at the Montreal World Film Festival for her performance in Le Role de sa
vie.
She made her film debut in Tatie Danielle in 1990, which was followed shortly thereafter by a
memorable turn in Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s cult favourite, Delicatessen.
Viard has since worked steadily within the French film industry, most recently appearing in the
critically acclaimed films Potiche (2010) and Polisse (2011). Viard remains one of the most
respected actresses working in French cinema today.
Pierre Pinaud –Director
Pierre Pinaud graduated from the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière. In
2000, his first short film, Gelée Précoce was selected in numerous festivals and won multiple
international awards.
In 2001, he directed a documentary, Domaine Interdit, a reflection on blindness and image.
He then directed a series of short films: Fonctions Annexes (Young Talent Cannes),
Submersible (2004) and Les Miettes (2008), which won the César for Best Short and the Lutin
for Best Movie.
On Air (Parlez-moi de vous) is his first feature film which he also wrote as well as directing.
Nicolas Duvauchelle –Director
Often touted by French media as a rebel, Duvauchelle seem to be one of the most promising
young actors in France and Europe. He was discovered at a boxing club in Paris, while he
was also studying to become a pharmacist.
He initially started out predominantly in action films, such as Trouble Every Day (2001) and
Snowboarder (2003). He also tried his hand at modelling, appearing in successful campaigns
for Levi’s and Hugo Boss. This inevitably led to larger roles such as Eager Bodies (2003) and
he has found work in the French cinema industry steadily ever since.
