This special issue will let you understand the changes that have already been made to the traffic signs in place by the Ministère des Transports du Québec and those to come. Changes already made Major destinations The part of Autoroute 30 from Saint-Constant to Candiac has been open to traffic since November 2010. The opening of this new autoroute section required some changes to the destination signs to identify this new infrastructure clearly. In addition, the autoroute section between the new Autoroute 30 and Route 132 in Saint-Constant has become Autoroute 730. This portion was previously part of Autoroute 30. Consequently, Exit 90 of the former Autoroute 30 has become Exit 2 of Autoroute 730. In addition to the renumbering of the exits on 141 kilometres of autoroutes, the posting of the major destinations will have to be changed at several strategic interchanges, particularly those of Autoroutes 10, 15, 20, 40 and 530. Changes to come The opening to traffic of the Jean-Leman section in fall 2011 will result in the renumbering, by the Ministère des Transports du Québec, of all the exits of Autoroute 30 between Châteauguay and Sorel-Tracy. Finally, the exit numbers of Autoroute 30 between Vaudreuil-Dorion and Châteauguay will be added for the opening of this section scheduled for the end of 2012. The exits will be renumbered according to the new point of origin, kilometre 0, which will be located at the intersection of Autoroutes 40 and 30, in Vaudreuil-Dorion. The current Autoroute 540 of this sector then will be part of Autoroute 30. The exit numbers of this section will be changed when the section between Vaudreuil-Dorion and Châteauguay is opened. Transition period The MTQ has provided for an adjustment period during which the old and new numbers will be shown on the sign indicating the exit. These indications will remain in place for a certain time to allow the road users to assimilate the changes made to the signs. The destinations located at both ends of Autoroute 30 will become the major destinations posted on the Autoroute 30 signs, i.e. Vaudreuil-Dorion westbound and Sorel-Tracy eastbound. Why change the exit numbers? The exit numbers are being changed with the aim of standardizing the signs on the Québec road network and adapting to North American practices. Thus, in Québec, these numbers are determined precisely: the point farthest west or farthest south is chosen as the kilometrage starting point. Each exit number thus includes the number of kilometres driven since the beginning of the road. This method makes it possible to know the number of kilometres between each pair of exits. Spread the word! We strongly urge all our partners to circulate the necessary information to their clientele in a timely manner. We encourage them to modify their communications tools to facilitate users’ trips (website, directions to a business, etc.). 348 Ri v ug . ua y 730 30 2 Saint-Philippe 0 15 Saint-Jacquesle-Mineur 221 221 Yam a ière Riv her eau 30 104 930 Réservoir Choinière Granby Automne 2012 SaintPhilippe Ange235 112 Limite Limite des régions adiministratives du Québec Gardien 10 0 10 km Saint-Alphonsede-Granby Projection conique conforme Farnham SainteSabine 139 Automne 2011 233 SaintAlexandre Noir e Sainte-CécileRoxton de-MiltonPond Unidirectionnelle 58 15 Sainte-Annede-Sabrevois t Bidirectionnelle SaintCésaire 217 Rivi PLATTSBURGH Saint-Blaisesur-Richelieu Es Légende 139 de Lambert (NAD 83) m Ya ère Brigham as ka Bromont 241 219 Saint-Cypriende-Napierville Saint-Valériende-Milton Sortie d’autoroute Saint-Pauld'Abbotsford 104 133 -l’ Période des modifications des numéros de sorties 30 Mont-SaintGrégoire SainteBrigided'Iberville de ièr e Tas c Mi ska Delson 30 1 km 35 137 Rougemont SainteAngèle227 de-Monnoir SaintJean- 209 sur-Richelieu 217 SaintMichel Candiac 223 SaintConstant Saint-Pie La Prairie Marieville 10 ul. s de 90 104 132 s- Bo s ne ag is rn o ha au Be Chambly on 235 231 Richelieu SainteCatherine nt Riv s lle Île re n mi 10 OTTAWA TORONTO Carignan SaintDominique ire 0 211 Ca 134 Saint-Théodored'Acton Upton 116 No 11 233 229 55 tea 112 15 227 Saint-Mathiassur-Richelieu 47 C hâ Saint-UrbainPremier 69 SaintDamase Saint-JeanBaptiste 133 73 1 15 62 1 04 SaintÉdouard Otterburn Park B Saint-Hubert 67 MONTÉRÉGIE SaintRémi Sainte-Martine de-Montarville 116 1 207 209 121 Saint-Bruno- 78 76 118 58 55 221 SaintIsidore 205 SaintMathieu MontBassin de LaSaint-Hilaire Prairie 120 86 Saint-Louisde-Gonzague Delson 30 Mercier 26 Saint-Étiennede-Beauharnois 47 201 Beauharnois 236 de Constant 80 231 229 LaSalleouSaint-Basilele-Grand l. 134 La Prairie 65 1 07 Candiac 930 730 2 90 Saint207 41 83 C l ana SainteCatherine 44 Maple Grove 236 22 A T-L 12 Salaberryde-Valleyfield Lac Saint-François IN SA 13 SaintZotique 132 132 Châteauguay 138 Léry Melocheville 30 5 338 530 Saint-Louis Pointe-des-Cascades 9 Grande-Île Lac Pointe-desCascades 9 201 Les Coteaux RivièreBeaudette VE 338 Les Cèdres Coteau-du-Lac 325 U FLE L'Île-Perrot Pincourt Kahnawake 35 340 SaintTélesphore Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Notre-Damede-l'Île-Perrot 1 5 20 Greenfield Park CôteSaint-Luc Brossard 38 Au SaintClet te ou tor SaintPolycarpe 23 338 Bo LeMoyne L'Île-Cadieux 2 4 ir 40 Deux VaudreuilDorion 4 1 3 2 PointeClaire LONGUEUIL ul.
