Cette exposition jette un regard sur certains des
apports que les Italiens ont amené à la vie et au
développement de Montréal. Ils ont planté leurs
racines dès leur arrivée. Mais ils n’étaient pas
repliés sur eux-mêmes, et ils avaient l’esprit ouvert.
This exhibition shines a light on some of the
contributions Italians have made to the life and
development of Montreal. When they arrived they
immediately put down roots. But these were not
inward-looking, closed-minded people.
Ils firent ainsi profiter de ces apports à tous
les Montréalais, et enrichirent la vie culturelle,
commerciale et professionnelle de la ville avec
leur expertise et leur capacité à travailler dur.
They reached out to all Montrealers and enriched
the city’s cultural, intellectual, commercial
and professional sectors with their expertise and
propensity for hard work.
Bien que l’histoire ici racontée parle du passé, et
que les faits relatés s’arrêtent aux années 1970, les
Italiens de Montréal n’ont aucune intention de se
reposer sur leurs lauriers.
Although these panels look back, and the timeline
ends in the 1970s, the Italians of Montreal have
no intention of resting on their laurels.
S’ils sont fiers de leurs contributions du passé
et de leur lègue, ils gardent un œil sur le
prochain chapitre, le prochain défi, la prochaine
génération…
They are proud of their historic contributions and
their legacy, certainly, but they always have their
eye on the next chapter, the next challenge,
the next generation…
