Chinatown - Paris Be A Part Of It
Chinatown Formerly an Industrial area, the Parisian Chinatown is located mainly in the 13th arrondissement, between the avenue de Choisy, avenue d’Ivry and Boulevard Massena (which design a triangle). From the 20’s, where the first refugees arrived, to nowadays many Asian communities gathered together in this specific area. Lately you can find a more recent Chinatown on the right bank around Belleville area, and a small one in the 3rd arrondissement. As in many worlds’ capital, the “Chinatown” is where you discover and enjoy the Asian culture, and in particular the gastronomy. Even if you visit Paris for the French gastronomy, our team is sure that you should try a lunch or diner in this area. You can visit easily (see the transportation), but don’t expect any specific architecture, this part of the 13th is mainly modern and recent buildings, but do expect great things in shops, restaurants, and grocery stores (below few addresses) that are mainly run by the Chinese community and propose Chinese/Asian products. If you visit Paris around the end of January/beginning of February, you can see the big and colorful parade that celebrates the New Year. Usually 3 are organized, the main one in the 13th arrondissement, the 2nd in Belleville, and the 3rd one in a little part of the 3rd arrondissement (Marais).
