 Les 5 classes de 5e de manière obligatoire
 Toutes les autres classes du collège de manière facultative
OBJECTIFS : Compétences et stratégies visées :
 Maîtriser la phonologie de l’alphabet en anglais et savoir épeler.
 Acquérir et mémoriser une liste de vocabulaire commune (apport lexical,
culturel, géographique et historique)
 Initier les élèves à une tradition américaine : le Spelling Bee Contest, qui
est un concours oral d’orthographe de mots épélés
DEROULEMENT
 Distribution de la liste 15 jours avant pour entraînement
 Une liste commune pour 6e-5e et une autre pour 4e-3e
 Les volontaires de 6e, 4e et 3e sont invités à s’inscrire pour le concours
du lundi 21 avril à 13h (nombre de places limité !)
 Lecture et acquisition du lexique au sein du cours d’anglais en 5e
 Organisation d’éliminatoires en 5e lundi 20 ou mardi 21 en cours
Finale des 5e le mercredi 22 avril à 8h
REGLES: le / la candidat(e) doit:
 Répéter à l’oral le mot tiré au sort et dit par le jury
 Epeler à l’oral ce mot , puis le répéter à nouveau
Le / la candidat(e) a le droit de demander
 à faire répéter ce mot: ‘can you repeat, please?’
 une définition du mot: ‘can you give a definition, please?’
 un exemple de phrase: ‘can you give a sample sentence, please?’

DEROULEMENT DU CONCOURS.
Le jury proposera 3 mots tirés au sort à chaque candidat(e).
Pour faire partie des gagnants, le/la candidat(e) ne devra pas faire plus d’une
erreur sous peine d’être éliminé(e)
Pour départager les meilleurs, le jury proposera 1 mot de la liste à chacun à
tour de rôle, chaque erreur étant éliminatoire, .
En cas d’égalité chaque élève se verra proposer deux mots hors liste.
A NOTER: pour tous les participants : un diplôme
pour les 3premiers : un diplôme + un lot
