Translation of the George Ivanov’s Poetry Translations by Brendan MacNabb Г. 1931 How sad it is we yearn to live, When in the air sweet spring’s lust. And yet again we’d gladly give Any ungodly price we must. The people shout, while carriages fly, And all alight the Concorde shimmers— The soft Parisian sunset lies, A shadow spreading without a whimper.
