Job description :
Blue Water Sushi is a fully licensed, dine-in/take-out sushi restaurant, which specializes in
Japanese cuisine.
We are currently seeking a full-time permanent employee in Smithers, BC to fill the position of
Cook.
Dependent on experience the wage will be $14-15 per hour. Extended Medical and Dental
benefits are offered after 3 months of employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that meals are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with Blue Water Sushi
recipes.
Ensure that all products is correct in respect to quantity and quality.
Ensure all prep is done for the day
Clean and organize the kitchen at all times. Follow all required checklists and cleaning
schedules during your shift
Assure the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment; identify equipment
needs for food preparation and service.
Ensure food quality by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage, and
sanitation of food products.
Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.
Other duties as required.
Skills Required:
The cook is required to have knowledge with Japanese cuisine, knife sharpening, how to prepare
all sauces, soups, rice vinegar mixture, knowledge of the preparation of seafood, how to cut and
store fish, where it comes from; how to correctly pronounce all menu items, prioritize workload,
knowledge of kitchen equipment. The cook reports to the Head Chef.

Strong communication in English and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays.

Must work well within a restaurant team culture.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have a strong initiative.
A positive and team-oriented attitude.
You must be able to perform efficiently during high volume peak periods.
Must be eligible to work in Canada.
