Our first visit to the boat was about 20 years ago. Our daughters were
learning to ski and some friends recommended that we take them to
Steamboat, since kids ski for free. What a great deal…Well we loved
this place and came back for 5 years in a row before starting to check
out the other ski areas in Colorado, Utah, California, etc. Then 10
years ago, after the Grand was built some friends stayed here and
suggested we check it out. Not having been back to Steamboat in
many years we were pleasantly surprised to see how far the ski area
had come and how wonderful the Grand was. The following year we
came back and were signing the papers for 1/8 ownership of a 2
bedroom Nordic unit as we were walking out the door. As avid skiers
we were thrilled to have finally purchased an ownership at a worldclass ski area. We came back for at least 3 weeks the following
year…it was pretty easy back then to get space available. Then 4
years ago, not having enough of the mountain, we had the
opportunity to purchase a full ownership of a 2 bedroom, 3 bath
Alpenglow unit. We now spend quite a bit of time here during the year
and are almost feeling like locals.
So with a major ownership stake in the Grand I would love the
opportunity to serve the rest of the owners in helping keep this
wonderful resort in tip-top shape through the coming years. As we all
know these have been difficult times in the real estate market and its
easy to just throw up your arms and let things take their toll, but I
think this is not what the great majority of you want. The upgrades
over the years have been extensive and if some of you have not yet
come back this season, you must check out the new lobby bar and
pool refurbish, which by the way looks spectacular at night. We still
have many other obstacles to deal with, the biggest still being the roof
issue and of course a continued refurbish of the condos (appliances,
drapes, painting, carpets, etc.). It’s a huge responsibility that I would
love to be part.
Professionally I’ve spent all of my career as a marketing professional
in the pharmaceutical business. For the past 20+ years as I was the
managing partner of one of the largest Healthcare Communications
Companies in NYC. More recently I was Managing Partner of the NJ
affiliate of that company, before leaving 3 years ago to start my own
Advertising Agency. As an agency principle I had and continue to
have responsible for all day to day agency operations as well as
setting the strategic direction for the company. This includes
organizational management, P&L responsibilities, ensuring that
financial targets are met, securing new business and assuring the
highest caliber work product.
From an educational standpoint I have a BA from Alfred University
and an MBA from St. Johns University. When not in Steamboat I live
in Edison NJ with my wife Sharon and our two daughters, Jordana
and Alexandra, and of course, we all love to ski.
