Après la fin des Beatles, John Lennon poursuit sa carrière en solo avec de nombreux succès comme "Instant
Karma", "Give peace a chance", "Jealous guy" et surtout "Imagine", l'une des chansons les plus populaires
qui aient jamais été écrites. Véritable hippie, militant pacifique, il sait utiliser son image pour défendre sa
cause. Il organise avec Yoko Ono des opérations médiatiques qui font de lui un symbole de la non-violence.
En 1975, John Lennon se retire de la scène musicale et médiatique pour se consacrer à sa vie de famille et
ne reparaître qu'en 1980 avec son dernier album, "Double fantasy". Il est assassiné, à New York, le 8
décembre 1980 par un fan déséquilibré.
