The funds collected in our
parish on Good Friday are sent to the Canadian
Catholic Organization for Development & Peace as
part of our Share Lent collection. The entire Easter
collection remains in our parish to assist us with the
cost of daily operations. Thank you for your
generous support of both these collections which
helps support the needy in Third World countries as
well as our own needs.

Sunday of Divine Mercy
Dimanche de la Miséricorde divine
April 12, 2015
Sunday of Divine
Mercy: When we place
Confirmation at Visitation Parish
our trust in God, His mercy
conquers the world. Christ
extends His victory over sin
and death through us in the
sacrament of reconciliation;
let us in turn show this
mercy to those we encounter in our personal relationships.
The whole community rejoices
with our candidates for
confirmation as they prepare for
this important and solemn
moment in their lives. Please
support them with your prayers
in the coming week!
Dimanche de la Miséricorde divine:
Rehearsal: Tuesday, April 14th
Les
bienfaits du doute. La foi est le point de départ pour marcher
à la suite de Jésus et apprendre à devenir bienveillant comme
Lui. Et le doute est une composante importante de ce
cheminement de foi.

Nursing Home Visits
Many of our senior parishioners are now residents in area
Nursing Homes and Retirement Homes. Deacon Larry
continues to visit those whose names have been given at the
parish office. If there are others who may have recently
moved to such a facility, or some who have never been
visited, please contact the office at 519-687-3118.
Laissez-nous savoir des ainés qui demeurent en résidence ou
foyer. Nous aimerions leur rendre visite.
Communion to the Shut-ins:
Those who
are unable to attend mass are invited to receive Holy
Communion on the first Friday of each month. Deacon
Larry and/or one of the parish Eucharistic Ministers will
gladly visit the homes of our shut-ins. If you are not
receiving this monthly service and would like to have a visit,
please contact the parish office at 519-687-3118.
La communion...est apportée aux personnes qui ne
peuvent pas assister à la messe. Si vous connaissez
quelqu’un qui aimerait avoir leur nom ajouté à notre liste,
demandez la permission de nous téléphoner au bureau.
Diocesan Wedding Anniversary
Mass...honoring all married couples in Southwestern
Ontario will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2:30 pm, at St.
Peter’s Cathedral Basilica in London, Ontario. Bishop
Fabbro will preside at the Mass. All married couples are
invited to attend. As Bishop Fabbro celebrates his 35th
Anniversary of Priesthood, a special invite goes out to all
couples celebrating 35 years of the Sacrament of Marriage. If
you are celebrating your 35th Anniversary please let us
know. Please call the parish office to register by April 27th.
7:00 – 7:45 pm: All confirmation candidates and at least
one parent. Sponsors are welcome.
7:45 – 8:15 pm: All confirmation candidates with an extra
role (lector, commentator etc...).
Confirmation: Wednesday, April 15th
6:30 pm:
7:00 pm:
All confirmation candidates must be at the
parish and in their gowns no later than 6:30 pm.
Mass begins – refreshments and distribution of
certificates to follow in the hall.
All parishioners are welcome and encouraged
to attend the confirmation. Please come and
show your support to let our young people
know that receiving this sacrament is
significant not only for those being confirmed
but for our entire parish community!
Did you know?
There is a rumor going around that confirmation is “when
you become an adult in the Church” or even “when you
choose for yourself to become Catholic”. This IS NOT what
our faith teaches us!
Confirmation is the necessary completion or “sealing” of the
grace received in baptism. (CCC 1285) It gives the
candidate the strength and power from God himself:
(1) rooting them more deeply as adopted sons and
daughters of God;
(2) unites them more firmly to Christ;
(3) increases in them the gifts of the Holy Spirit;
(4) makes their bond with the Church more perfect
(5) gives them a special strength to defend the
faith by word and action as true witnesses of
Christ, to confess the name of Christ boldly, and
never to be ashamed of the Cross. (CCC 1303)
Confirmation – like all the
sacraments, is more about God’s
action in the soul rather than our
initiative.
What we can do is
prepare our hearts to be fruitful soil,
free of the weeds of sin and full of
the fertilizer of our virtuous acts so
that the seed – the Word of God –
can take root and grow.
