The museum is a public institution focusing on history and culture. The museum is
specialized in scientific activities in the field of history, culture and art. Largely the museum is
focused on educational activities - lectures for children and youth, public lectures and
supporting programs for exhibition.
The museum organizes and supports traditional events in Pelhřimov with year-round
exhibitions and administers historical, artistic and ethnographic collections (about 20 000
objects). The museum has the public library and provides library services. Aims of
organization are conserve, develop and present cultural heritage, history, culture and art.
Year-long administration of the collections and their documentation (make photos and
description of the object)
Target groups: children and youth (kindergarten, primary school, secondary school) museum educational program for general public - public lectures, exhibitions, library
specialists and scientists of humanities - science, research and collecting activities
Regular activities: exhibition activity - about five exhibitions per year - public lectures (topics
of lecture: history, art, folk customs, regional history, travel, personality) - Carnival, Museum
Night, Earth Day, Advent
