The Italian Army adopted this cartridge in 1874 for their Chamelot
The Italian Army adopted this cartridge in 1874 for their Chamelot-Delvigne revolver and also used
it in the Glisenti Model 1889 revolver. The cartridge was originally loaded with a lead projectile
and it will be noticed that the early lead bulleted versions are longer than the later full metaljacketed ones and that the case has a pronounced shoulder. Later production had a gradual taper. It
was manufactured well into the 1930s. G. Fiocchi was loading the cartridge as late as the 1960s.
