Background information: Grand Pavois, the international in-water boat show, will be held from
25th - 30th September 2013 at the Port des Minimes in La Rochelle. 850 exhibitors are expected
on 100,000 sq. metres of exhibition space. 300 boats will be on show in-water, out of the 700 on
display in the show. Themed spaces for the 100,000 visitors. The benchmark for enthusiasts,
Grand Pavois offers the unique chance of trying the boats at sea before buying.
An entire hall devoted to Martinique professionals
This year, for the first time, Grand Pavois welcomes Martinique as its guest of honour. No need to
spend eight hours in a plane to escape to this entrancing island: the Grand Pavois guest of honour is
coming to meet visitors in La Rochelle. In fact, this year professionals from this “island of flowers”, in
the heart of the Caribbean archipelago, are coming to the show to create a dream setting and
atmosphere for visitors! 700 sq. m. will be completely given over to them. Forty exhibitors will display
their expertise and their products, answering visitors' questions and responding to their desires to
learn about water sports, tourism, the craft industry and local gastronomy. Six days to feel the
atmosphere of an area with ambitious plans for the water sports area !

Tourism is an important economic sector, and water sports have been strongly developed on the
island in recent years, thanks to the efforts and the dynamism of the Regional Council and its staff.
Martinique has 350 km of coastline, with the Atlantic on the east and the Caribbean to the west, giving
so many good places for water sports, in a 28° sea: sailing, surfing, windsurfing, kite-surfing, diving,
sport fishing, as well as taking a cruise with one of the many boat hire companies, and professionals…
so nothing could have been more obvious than for Martinique to accept the Grand Pavois' invitation.
