Jobs and Skills Management Agreements, Job Retention Agreements, Employment Protection Agreements,
Internal Staff Mobility Agreements...It's a fact: employment has become an important theme of collective
negotiation in France. Noteworthy changes to labour law that reinforce contractualisation and express a
greater maturity of social partners.
All levels of collective negotiation are involved. We have lost count of the number of national interprofessional agreements that belong to this process. Professional sector / labour groups were strongly
mobilised during the drawing up of the recent Responsibility Pact. Over recent months, half of all
employment protection agreements have led to the conclusion of a business agreement.
A thesis subject at Paris X some years ago, this theme deserves to be reviewed, as the changes over recent
years have been so important. Beginning with an analysis of concluded agreements, it will highlight
contractual innovations related to employment.
