We gave C$3,500 sponsorship support for: Nova Scotia Knowledge Exchange and Health Promotion
Forum: 1 - 3 June 2012. The project brings together ASOs and people living with HIV/AIDS (PHAs)
from across the province to engage in skills building workshops and knowledge sharing activities that
will enhance their individual and collective capacities to cope with HIV/AIDS and respond to related
issues within their communities.
We gave C$1,000 educational grant for Central West Opening Doors Counselling Forum: Guelph, 6-7
November 2012. The conference strengthens HIV counselling skills, services and resources by
bringing together caregivers, social service providers, health care workers, addiction workers,
counsellors, clergy, families, friends, and people living with HIV, to support and learn from each other.
We gave C$16,500 Positive Action Canada Innovation Program grant for: Peer Counselling/Education
and Internet Technology. The project goal is to reduce social isolation and depression in PHAs
through the development of an interactive website providing HIV knowledge and peer helper support
that is uniquely designed to meet the informational and social support needs of Newfoundlanders
and Labradorians.
We gave C$13,500 educational grant for: Community Health Forums for People Living with HIV. The
fora Increase knowledge of HIV-related related issues that impact the health and well being of PHAs
through the development and hosting of seven community health forums that are accessible both in
person and on-line.
We gave C$5,000 sponsorship support for: ARTSIDA4 - Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, 7 April
2012. The event raises funds to support the work of the agency.
We gave C$14,000 Positive Action Canada Innovation Program grant for: ACCM+. The project goal is
to improve quality of life for seropositive youth by providing an array of support services tailored for
youth, as well as secondary services designed to increase the capacities of the people that comprise
their support networks.
We gave C$1,000 sponsorship support for: 21st Annual Opening Doors Counselling Conference:
Thunder Bay, 17-18 October 2012. The conference, “Wellness, Inclusion and Understanding”, offered
workshops on HIV/AIDS counselling issues, highlighting personal experiences from both PHAs and
professionals working in the field. PHA specific workshops were offered throughout the conference.
We gave C$3,000 sponsorship support for: Fifth Annual Celebrity Dim Sum: 2 June 2012. The event
raises funds to support the work of the agency's Asian Community Outreach Project, which provides
HIV information, education and outreach support to higher risk people within Vancouver's Asian
communities .
We gave C$5,000 sponsorship support for: 2012 Red Ribbon Campaign & Gala. The HIV/AIDS public
education and awareness campaign highlights public misconceptions regarding the severity of the
HIV/AIDS epidemic and disease, and aims to break down stigma associated with HIV/AIDS. The Gala
event raises funds to support the work of the agency.

Centre, Vancouver, 1 December 2012. This event is Canada's largest annual community-based WAD
event, to raise HIV/AIDS awareness, provide educational information, and build community
partnerships.
We gave C$450 sponsorship support for: The Sweetest Taboo - 20 November 2012, Lula Lounge, 1585
Dundas Street West, Toronto. The event profiles and recognize HIV/AIDS work in the South Asian
community, and raises funds to support the work of the agency.
We gave C$2,200 educational grant for: HIV Aging and Mental Health/ Emotional Wellness Workshop
- Toronto, 20 November 2012. This workshop provides clients and their caregivers with knowledge to
support their overall well being, improve their quality of life, and increase the capacity of peer
support through transfer and exchange of information gained from the workshop.

honours Aboriginal people who provide leadership in the HIV and AIDS movement. It also recognizes
the contributions and support that is provided by Aboriginal AIDS Service Organizations and
Aboriginal Communities.
We gave C$20,000 educational grant for: International Indigenous Working Group on HIV and AIDS
(IIWGHA) Internal and External Communications. Supporting internal and external communications,
this grant will assist the International Indigenous Working Group on HIV & AIDS (IIWGHA)'s mission to
create an international voice and structure linking Indigenous peoples with their leadership,
governments, AIDS service organizations, cooperatives, and others in global collective action to lower
HIV/AIDS's disproportionate impact on indigenous people.

HIV/AIDS. It provides HIV+ Canadians with a unique opportunity to participate in policy dialogues,

HIV/AIDS action.
We gave C$20,000 sponsorship support for: World AIDS Day Gala - Ottawa, 28 November 2012. The
event is an opportunity for Canadians to unite in a non-partisan way at the national level to raise
awareness about HIV, to express solidarity with PHAs, and to raise funds to support the work of the
agency.
We gave C$22,000 sponsorship support for: PHA Forum and Annual General Meeting: National Hotel
& Suites, Ottawa, 15-18 June 2013. The Forum is the only pan-Canadian gathering exclusively for
Canadians living with HIV/AIDS. It provides HIV+ Canadians with a unique opportunity to participate in
policy dialogues, capacity building and skills/knowledge transfer workshops and help direct local,
regional and national HIV/AIDS action.
We gave C$5,000 educational grant for: Regional Educational Conference (in partnership with the
Pacific AIDS Network): Marriott Vancouver Airport, Richmond, BC, 26-27 September 2012. The
Conference is a knowledge exchange opportunity designed to bring the latest information on HIV to
front-line HIV agencies to enhance health outcomes for PHAs.

We gave C$15,000 Positive Action Canada Innovation Program grant for: Webinar series: Starting HIV
Drug Treatment - A) Making the decision B) Questions to ask. The project's objective is to reach a
wide audience of people with useful, bilingual, accurate HIV treatment information using proven
knowledge exchange concepts and webinar technology, an effective mechanism to reach large
numbers of participants in diverse audiences at a lowered cost.
We gave C$20,000 educational grant for: Education Outreach 2012-2013. The agency develops
organizational policy and communications objectives, makes access to treatment policy
recommendations, and delivers skills and capacity building workshops to PHAs and people living with
HCV co-infection as well as policy makers in the area of access to treatment.
We gave C$15,000 sponsorship support for: Voices of Hope/Voix D'Espoir 2012. Launched
collaboratively by La Maison du Parc (Montréal), Casey House Hospice (Toronto) and Dr. Peter AIDS
Foundation (Vancouver), “Voices of Hope / Voix D’Espoir” is Canada's national annual event marking
World AIDS Day and raising awareness of the ongoing crisis of HIV/AIDS in Canada and internationally.
We gave C$15,000 educational grant for: Services d'info-traitements au Québec 2012. Services d'infotraitements à l'intention des PVVIH au Québec : consultations individuelles en personne, par
téléphone et par courriel, sessions de formation et de mise à jour en groupe, conférences sur des
sujets pertinents, site Internet (miroirs en anglais et en français).
We gave C$5,000 educational grant for: 2012-2013 Concordia University Community Lecture Series on
HIV/AIDS. The Lecture Series presents an interdisciplinary round of university and public lectures
which educate about current issues, perspectives and realities of the HIV/AIDS Pandemic. The
constituency is interdisciplinary and diverse, including students, activists, researchers, and health
professionals.
We gave C$5,300 educational grant for: Quiet the Mind, Open the Heart. This experiential workshop
brings together body, mind and spirit in a holistic and healing way. Clients, residents and peers are
guided through techniques and exercises that help shift personal perspective and alter the experience
of their physical, emotional and spiritual challenges.
We gave C$3,500 donation for: Paniers de Noël 2012. Tout au long de l’année, la Fondation assure
une redistribution alimentaire pour laquelle elle doit mener une campagne de financement continue
ponctuée de trois collectes spécifiques qui se déroulent principalement au cours de l’automne et qui
constituent la campagne de Noël.
We gave C$5,000 educational grant for: Conférences publiques 2012-2013. Le projet facilite la prise
en charge de la santé globale des personnes vivant avec le VIH (PVVIH). Il s'agit de réaliser une série
de 6 conférences publiques; cette série de conférences s'adresse à la population en général, et aux
PVVIH originaires d'Afrique et d'Haïti en particulier.
We gave C$3,500 donation for: Paniers de Noël 2012. Il s'agit d'offrir 170 paniers de provisions
répondant aux traditions culinaires de PVVIH caraïbéennes, africaines et noires. Cette activité
permettra aux bénéficiaires de passer une période de fête dans le réconfort.
We gave C$20,000 educational grant for: Immigration Law Project. The HIV & AIDS Legal Clinic
Ontario is the only legal clinic in Canada that provides services to PHAs. The Immigration Law Project
is the vehicle through which the clinic provides immigration legal services to PHAs. Demand for such
services has increased 188% since 2006.
We gave C$2,500 educational grant for: AIDS 2012 Community Report Back: 519 Church St
Community Centre, Toronto, 18 September 2012. ICAD presented a day-long report back from the
XIX International AIDS Conference. The goal of the report back, in line with our organisational
mandate, is to share global research results, news and updates among community organisations.
We gave C$1,000 donation for: Campagne de financement 2012: L'Homophobie, ça suffit! Le projet a
pour but de démystifier l'homosexualité et la bisexualité auprès des élèves dans les écoles. Nos
bénévoles vont à la rencontre des élèves du grand Montréal et leur livrent des témoignages sur ce
qu'ils ont vécu et ce au'ils vivent en tant que gais, lesbiennes ou bisexuels.

Project. The goal is to enhance health and community services' understanding of, and responsiveness
to, the health, risk factors, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of injection drug users (IDUs) who
are at risk for or living with HIV/AIDS in the rural communities of Nova Scotia.
We gave C$2,500 donation for: Voices of Hope 2012 Programme Advertisement. The event raises
funds for Maison du Parc to assist PHAs living at the hospice as well as clients living outside of the

conférences et l'accès au journal interne, elles pourront modifier leur mode de vie.
We gave C$7,500 sponsorship support for: Ontario AIDS Network Honour Roll: Toronto, 17 November
2012. The event celebrates outstanding leadership and achievement within the HIV/AIDS movement
in Ontario. Created in 1996, the Honour Roll has been inscribed each year with the names of
individuals and organizations that have enhanced the capacity of the community and province to
respond to HIV/AIDS.
We gave C$2,500 educational grant for: Creating age-friendly policies and programs for people living
with HIV. This Policy Exchange brought together researchers, service providers and policy makers to
discuss the issues associated with aging with HIV. Subjects examined included: What do we know?
What are the implications of that knowledge, and how can we apply it in policy and practice?
We gave C$19,000 Positive Action Canada Innovation Program grant for: Empowering HIV Positive
Illicit Drug Consumers (IDC) through Knowledge, Action, Outreach and Advocacy. This project of the
Drug Users Advocacy League (DUAL) empowers illicit drug consumers living with HIV/AIDS in Ottawa
to generate and disseminate knowledge of the unique risk environments they face, to better access
health and social services, and to influence the development of these services to better address their
physical, social, mental, emotional and spiritual needs.
We gave C$16,000 sponsorship support for: AccolAIDS 2012 - Title Sponsorship + Ticket Purchase.
AccolAIDS is an awards gala which honours heroes in the BC HIV/AIDS movement in 7 distinct
categories and in one "People's Choice" category. Held bi-annually, BC's doctors, nurses, healthcare
workers, researchers, program delivery leaders, ASO leaders, advocates and peers come out to
celebrate their achievements.
We gave C$14,000 educational grant for: 2012 Treatment, Health and Wellness Information Services
and Outreach Education – delivered through Peer Navigators. These programs ensure that the agency
can provide a range of one-on-one support, education, referrals and lifestyle supports to the
increasing number of newly-diagnosed HIV+ folks as well as those re-engaging in care after many
years.
We gave C$12,000 educational support for: Community Education Fora. The project is a series of 6
bimonthly community fora on current treatment information and other topics of interest to the
agency's membership.
We gave C$1,700 sponsorship support to: Red Ribbon Breakfast: Four Seasons Hotel, Vancouver, 26
February 2013. This community education breakfast raises funds to go directly towards programs and
services of Positive Living BC.
We gave C$20,000 Positive Action Canada Innovation Program grant for: Vers les femmes
autochtones pour Intervenir et renforcer les habiletés. Le projet vise à renforcer le lien entre les
femmes autochtones gravitant autour de l’industrie du sexe atteintes du VIH/Sida ou à risque de
l’être et les institutions de santé, par la formation, l’intégration des services et le développement
d’un réseau intégré afin d’améliorer l’offre de service globale.
We gave C$20,000 educational support for: Pathway to Wholeness: Living with HIV & Concurrent
Illness Project. The project's goal is to impact people’s lives in the community by bringing together a
group of people who currently have no or very limited opportunity to access information in a safe,
culturally meaningful manner regarding their dual diagnosis that contributes to a decreased level of
health.
We gave C$2,000 sponsorship support for: Chrissie Cameron-Boshart Memorial Dinner & Toy Auction:
25 October 2012, Mississauga Convention Centre. The fundraising event creates a heightened
awareness amongst attendees about the complex issues facing local children and their families living
with HIV/AIDS, and the work of The Teresa Group.

We gave C$10,000 educational grant for: Ambassador Project. This pilot project builds on the model
of utilizing community members and leaders as trained and supported ambassadors to convey key
messages around HIV/AIDS that will assist in connecting PHAs to appropriate resources/services,
increase knowledge and ultimately impact behaviour.
We gave C$10,000 sponsorship support for: Friends For Life Bike Rally 2012. It is the agency's
signature and sustaining event, and is an inspirational and awareness raising ride for 400+ participants
who travel from Toronto to Montreal.
We gave C$2,500 sponsorship support for: A Night of Passion - TPWAF 25th Anniversary Benefit
Concert: Glenn Gould Theatre, CBC Centre, Toronto, 30 November 2012. The event, featuring
greetings and reflections from community activists, politicians, clients, staff and volunteers, raised
funds to support TPWAF and focused on the agency's 25 years of support to the HIV+ and broader
communities.
We gave C$12,000 Positive Action Canada Innovation Program grant for: Up from the Earth Urban
Gardening Pilot Project. The project's goal is to improve the well-being and quality of life for people
living with long-term HIV/AIDS and on antiretroviral therapy by fostering and increasing their access
to organic, healthy, whole food security and sustainability through urban gardening.
We gave C$2,500 sponsorship support for: Friends For Life 20th Anniversary Gala. The event
celebrates and honours the individual and collective contributions of the agency's top 20 supporters
(based on volunteerism, philanthropy, vision and merit since the organization's inception in 1993),
marking FFL as a leader in providing complementary and holistic health therapies to people living with
HIV/AIDS.
We gave C$5,000 educational grant for: DUDES' Club Health Fair - 23 August 2012. The event was
held at Vancouver Native Health Society, with a focus on HIV testing and counselling, primary care
screening (blood pressure, diabetes, STI, etc.), health education and peer support.
We gave C$15,000 Positive Action Canada Innovation Program grant for: The CLICK Project. This
initiative aims to directly engage with 50 newly diagnosed young PHAs, to help improve young
people’s access to peer-support, community, and information through a series of focussed
opportunities including 1) social events, 2) peer-led workshops, and 3) the development of youthfriendly resource materials.
We gave C$1,000 sponsorship support for: Brunch with Benefits: Vancouver, 2 December 2012. This
one day multi-restaurant fundraising event (percentage of sales) is a national pilot project, the first
year occurring in Vancouver and Toronto with plans to expand to more Canadian cities in 2013.
