 MARK HACHEM GALLERY Guillaume Piechaud Born in 1968, France. EN In his work, Guillaume Piechaud becomes the creator of his own world made of dreamlike patterns and shapes. He recreates a visual universe filled with a metal 'fauna', at once astonishing and seductive, primitive and fantastic. The mirror in stainless steel’s skin, a conventionally cold material, however endowed with warmth and softness, thanks of the shape and brightness of the objects he creates. Such a strong taste for lighting, developed over the years, is the reason for Piechaud's work uniqueness, plunging his sculpture into a borderline dimension between the real and the unreal. The forms are extremely refined, as suggested by the density and precision of the structure, which are present at all times. Drops of metal, designed and executed as aircraft wings: aerodynamics and perfection define the work of William Piechaud. The voluptuous forms are never evasive and they remain, against all odds, strong and powerful. Ultimately, we cannot really know if the the piece of furniture has become jewel, or if it was a jewel that was converted into furniture. FR Au travers de ses modèles et formes oniriques, Guillaume Piéchaud devient le créateur de son propre monde. Il recrée un univers visuel rempli d'une faune de métal à la fois étonnante et séduisante, primitive et fantastique. Le miroir en inox poli, un matériel normalement si froid, prendrait presque des tonalités chaleureuses et douces grâce aux formes et à la brillance de l'objet. En effet, le goût de l'artiste pour cette lumière forte donne à ses travaux leur unicité et plonge ses sculptures à la limite du réel et de l’irréel. Les formes sont si raffinées qu'elles en deviennent évidentes alors que la densité et la précision de la structure restent présentes. Gouttes de métal, dessinées et exécutées comme des ailes d'avion, l'aérodynamique et la perfection définissent le travail de l'artiste. Les formes sont voluptueuses mais jamais évasives et restent, contre toute attente, fortes et puissantes. Finalement, on ne sait jamais si le mobilier devient bijou ou si c'est le bijou qui se transforme en mobilier.
