✪ International walk for peace (19 km). 10.30 am: Departure from
Carquebut. 5.00 pm: Arrival at Ste Mère-Église.
✪ The first town to be liberated in France in June 1944 celebrates
freedom: festive picnic (bring your own or purchase on site), concert
and dance with the orchestra Bul Mazette : music from yesterday’s
balls. Good old tunes that everyone knows and revisited.
✪ The picnic at Omaha Beach is the largest of Normandy Day with
over 1500 participants. Bring your hamper along! Musical ambiance
during diner, sale and release of sky lanterns in front of the “Braves”
Monument around 11.00 pm (new! In 2013). Food and refreshments
available on site. Free car park nearby.

Parachute show of La Fière
✪ 1940’s concert by The Three Belles. Re-enactment of an exodus
(150 participants), parade with old bicycles. 4.30 pm : Arrival of the
historical walk “in the footsteps of the 101st Airborne” with close to a
hundred participants in GI uniforms (the walk departs at 9.00 am from
the marina), re-enactment of the military review of 23rd June 1944.

✪ At the top of the cliff overlooking the D-Day landing beaches, the
biggest musical firework display of the area will take place on the
emblematic site of the battery of Longues-sur-Mer (listed Historical
Monument). Historical commentary before the fireworks.

✪ Free access to the museum from 1 pm to 10.30 pm : showing of
the new film “They Walk With You”. Concerts by Canadian groups at
4.00 pm and 8.30 pm. Pipe bands at 6.00 pm. Fireworks at 11.00 pm.

✪ Civilian parachute drop of 72 paratroopers in 40s military
uniforms from a C-47 plane (Round Canopy Parachuting Team and
Liberty Jump Team). Military parachute drop (to be confirmed:
www.sainte-mere-eglise.info). Ceremonies at the Memorial La
Fière in honor of the Airborne Troops with an American delegation
and Veterans. Musical Entertainment by “La Planche à Laver” (blue
grass, New Orleans). Food and refreshments available on site.

ISIGNY-SUR-MER (town center) – from 6.30 pm
✪ The Military Vehicle Conservation Group (MVCG) will show the
finest pieces from their collection during an hour long parade: Jeeps,
Dodges, GMC and more, as well as heavy equipment such as tanks,
Diamonds, Wreckers or Tracteur Fédéral (to be confirmed). Close to
80 vehicles will be presented with a commentary from the President
of MVCG France. An event that will delight lovers of military vehicles
and history!

emblematic sites of the D-Day Landing Beaches.

✪ Reconstitution of a military camp by MVCG Bretagne (signatory of
the Good Conduct Charter) from 4th to 11th June near the racecourse in
Ste Mère-Église, exhibition of vehicles, entertainment in the camp and
on the church square.
3 further reconstitutions of an American military camp: in Ste MèreÉglise (Airborne Museum from 5th to 10th June, in Ste Marie-du-Mont
(around the church from 4th to 9th June with dioramas and educational
workshops from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm), in Picauville (near the USAAF
monument (church), from 6th to 9th June).

✪ Reconstitution of a camp (6 hectares, 200 exhibitors). Entertainment on
the camp : exhibitions (mechanic’s workshop, arms factory, field hospital,
telecom post, US Mail, Post Exchange, laundry, café and grocery store).
Demonstrations and vehicles parade. Rockabilly evening on Saturday night
and concert by KAS on Sunday afternoon.

vous feront découvrir les plus belles pièces de leur collection à travers
un défilé d’environ une heure : Jeeps, Dodges, GMC et bien d’autres

Près de 80 véhicules à découvrir grâce au commentaire expert du

✪ La première ville libérée de France en juin 1944 fête la Liberté
retrouvée : pique-nique festif (à apporter ou à acheter sur place),
concert et bal populaire avec l’orchestre Bul Mazette : répertoire des
bals d’antan, revisité et dépoussiéré. Un parfum de Liberté sur des airs
que chacun fredonne encore.

✪ Reconstitution d’un camp militaire américain par le MVCG Bretagne
(signataire de la charte de bonne conduite) du 4 au 11 juin près du
terrain hippique à Ste Mère-Église, exposition de véhicules, animations
sur le camp et sur la place de l’église.
3 autres reconstitutions de camp militaire américain : à Ste Mère-Église
(au Musée Airborne du 5 au 10 juin), à Ste Marie-du-Mont (autour de
l’église du 4 au 9 juin avec dioramas et ateliers didactiques de 10 h à
18 h), à Picauville (près du monument USAAF (église), du 6 au 9 juin).
