At Pennine Way Junior Academy we firmly believe that having the opportunity
to learn a language not only enriches the curriculum with exciting and enjoyable
lessons but also develops positive attitudes to language learning for life and
encourages pupils to develop mutual respect and tolerance of those with from
different cultures.
Our aims of teaching MFL are for children to:

Develop speaking and listening skills
•
Experience enjoyment in their learning
•
Create foundations for future study at secondary school
•
Explore their own culture and that of others, preparing children for life
in a multi-cultural society, like Britain and asking them to draw
comparisons between life in Britain and France.
The children take an active part in language lessons at Pennine Way, they are
eager join in with singing, reciting rhymes, playing games and experimenting with
language.
Lessons are fun; the children create mimes, sketches and role-play,
imitating accurate intonation and pronunciation as modelled by teachers and
resources.
