REQUIREMENT FOR VISA TO MAURITIUS
Those who are issued the visa at the airport are required to produce following documents
when entering Mauritius (e.g. German nationals):
(i) Valid recognized passport;
(ii) Valid return passage ticket to country of origin or residence;
(iii) Adequate funds to meet cost of stay in Mauritius;
(iv) Re-entry visa for country of residence/residence permit (e.g. if you are not German
and are in possession of a residence permit in Germany);
(v) Confirmed booking of accommodation (if sponsored by a Mauritian citizen applicant
should produce supporting letter of sponsor, stating name, address and relationship)
Those who have to apply for a visa are required to submit following documents to the
Embassy:
1) Copy of relevant pages of the passport (showing photograph, nationality,
passport no., issuing authority) - please do not send your passport!
2) Copy of re-entry visa or residence permit for country of origin (e.g.
Germany)
3) Confirmed booking of accommodation issued by the Mauritian hotel itself,
not by the travel agency (the hotel may fax the booking confirmation directly
to the Embassy) or if sponsored by a Mauritian citizen, applicant should
produce supporting letter of sponsor, stating name, telephone number,
address and relationship.
4) Confirmed booking of return passage ticket (required information: name of
customer, dates of flight and flight numbers!)
5) Application form completely (important!) filled out in English and duly
dated and signed
6) Two passport photos (these are the only documents that have necessarily to
be sent by mail, the other documents can also be transmitted by fax)
Important
− Please, indicate your telephone and fax number so as to facilitate quick
communication with you.
− The time for processing of visa application takes 1 to 2 weeks following submission of
application and all required documents. The application is not processed until all
required documents and information are submitted.
− In case documents/information are missing when submitting your application and you
do not submit them in time when notified, we would assume that you are not any more
interested in further application.
