Au cœur de la capitale, le Grand
Hôtel du Palais Royal célèbre
le mariage de l’élégance et de
l’hospitalité, entre respect du
patrimoine et exigence contemporaine. Derrière l’élégante
façade classée de cet édifice
du XVIIIe siècle, Pierre-Yves
Rochon a imaginé un lieu où
les références prestigieuses à
l’histoire dialoguent en permanence et en pertinence avec les
critères de l’hospitalité contemporaine. Ici, passé et présent
se marient partout avec grâce :
dans le lobby où trônent les
bustes de Voltaire, Rousseau,
Buffon et Diderot ; dans les
salons alcôves modernes au
chic feutré ; au lounge bar à
champagne ; ou encore au
restaurant Le Lulli, parquet
de chêne et chaises Bertoia
Diamant (Knoll) habillées de
cuir blanc, où les moulures répondent au tissu verdoyant de
Pierre Frey.
In the heart of the capital city,
the Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal
celebrates the union of elegance
and hospitality, combining allegiance to historical heritage
and modern requirements.
Behind the elegant listed
façade of this 18th century
building, Pierre-Yves Rochon
has conceived a place where
prestigious historical references intermingle constantly
in relevant interaction with
today’s standards of hospitality.
In every room, the past and the
present gracefully harmonize
; in the lobby the busts of Voltaire, Rousseau, Buffon and Diderot occupy a place of honor,
the modern parlor rooms give
off a chic and quiet ambiance,
at the Champagne lounge bar
and at the Lully restaurant,
white leather chairs by Bertoia
Diamant Knoll stand on oak
flooring and ornamental moldings match green fabric by
Pierre Frey.

Aux manettes de l’établissement, Jean-Yves Bournot,
jeune chef de 35 ans passé
chez les Pourcel, Thierry Marx
ou Yannick Alléno - qu’il a accompagné pendant huit années
au Meurice - signe une carte
contemporaine et inventive,
volontairement courte et de
saison. Dessinée une à une
dans le respect de l’architecture
initiale du bâtiment autour du
majestueux escalier à rampe
en fer forgé au pied duquel
une malle géante accueille la
bagagerie, les soixante-huit
chambres de l’établissement dont la plupart peuvent être
rendues communicantes avec
leur voisine - offrent le cachet
d’un appartement haussmannien modernisé aux charmes
du Palais-Royal. Baignées de
lumière naturelle et donnant,
parfois avec balcon, sur la place
de Valois ou le ministère de la
Culture, elles associent décoration délicate imaginée avec les
grandes maisons (tissus, tentures et papiers peints Pierre
Frey, Rubelli, Manuel Canovas,
Dedar et Etamine, mobilier Philippe Hurel, luminaires Delisle,
etc.) et œuvres d’art.

Parmi les plus belles réussites,
cette suite junior au sixième
étage, où les sanguines de
Fragonard, Raphaël, Le Brun
ou Michel-Ange se marient à
merveille aux toiles colorées
de l’artiste mexicaine Fitzia
pour souligner la justesse du
mobilier, petite table cylindre
en chêne, cabriolet Louis XVI
velours amande, méridienne
et tabouret, amande eux aussi,
coordonnés aux rideaux à
fleurs, pieds de lampe tout en
rondeur et bureaux demi-lune.
Au septième et dernier étage,
deux suites exceptionnelles dont la Palais Royal en duplex offrent une vue époustouflante
à 180° sur Paris, depuis les
jardins du Palais-Royal et le
Louvre, jusqu’au Sacré-Cœur,
l’Opéra, les Invalides et la Tour
Eiffel. Déclinée dans des teintes
pures (parquet de chêne, tissu
damassé blanc), la suite panoramique de 80 m2 accessible
par ascenseur privé avec salle
à manger, bureau, salle de bain
en marbre de Calacatta et salon
ouvert sur une grande terrasse
de 25 m2 confirme le caractère
exclusif du lieu.
35 years old chef Jean-Yves
Bournot previously worked
with The Pourcels, Thierry
Marx and with Yannick Alléno
at the Meurice for eight years,
he proposes an intentionally
short and seasonal inventive
modern menu. Around the majestic stairway equipped with
wrought iron banisters, the
sixty eight bedrooms were designed separately with respect
for the original architecture of
the building. At the foot of the
stairs, the luggage room is set
inside a gigantic trunk. Most
of the bedrooms can communicate with one another; they
possess the cachet of a modernized Haussmannian apartment
and the charms of the Palais
Royal. Some of them feature a
balcony and are all bathed in
natural light with views of the
place de Valois or the Ministry
for the Arts buildings. In the
bedrooms, pieces of furniture
by Philippe Hurel and lights
by Delisle, fabrics, drapes and
wall papers by renowned Dedar
and Etamine and creators such
as Pierre Frey, Rubelli, and
Manuel Canovas compose the
delicate decoration adorned
with artistic masterpieces.
On the 6th floor, in the Junior
suite, one of the most beautiful
rooms, red chalk drawings by
Fragonard, Raphael, Le Brun
and Michael Angelo combine
with colorful paintings by Mexican artist Fitzia and emphasize
the perfect choice of furniture;
a small cylindrical oak table,
a cabriolet from the Louis
XVI period covered in almond
green velvet and almond green
day bed and stool matching
the flowery curtains, rounded
lampstands and crescent-shaped desks. On the 7th top floor,
two outstanding suites, - one of
them named the Palais Royal is
a duplex, offer a breathtaking
panorama of Paris overlooking
the gardens of the Palais Royal
and the Louvre museum, up to
the Sacré-Coeur, the Opéra, the
Invalides and the Eiffel Tower.
A private lift gives access to the
80 square meters oak floored
panoramic suite, pure tints and
white damask decorate the
dining room, the study, and the
Calcutta marbled bathroom.
The sitting room opens on a
large 25 square meters terrace.
This suite definitely defines the
exclusive nature of the place.
