POSTING FOR A SUMMER PROGRAM ANIMATOR The Bibliotheque Lennoxville Library is looking to hire a Summer Program Animator for the children’s activity, “TD Summer Reading Club Program”. Reporting to the Library Coordinator, the Summer Program Animator will be responsible for the preparation and the animation of the “TD Summer Reading Club”. This program will offer one English and one French event each week. As this position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs 2014, the incumbent must be a student between the ages of 15 and 30 years and returning to full-time studies in Fall 2014. Description The incumbent must work autonomously in his/her research, planning and all other activities related to the development of the “TD Summer Reading Program”. For each event: on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Summer Program Animator must prepare an activity for welcoming the children to the event leading them into the program for that day. Each program, of two-hour duration, should be characterized by creativity and contain music, one or more stories, a game and a craft linked to the week’s theme. The planned activities must be prepared the previous week and presented, in summary form, to the Library Coordinator. Main Responsibilities 1. Prepare, organize and animate the “TD Summer Reading Club Program”. 2. Run an information desk at the Library on Friendship Day (June 14) with the objective of generating interest and recruiting participants. 3. In addition to the six (6) hours for the activity (which includes 30 minutes before and after the activity), the Summer Program Animator will allocate approximately sixteen (16) to eighteen (18) hours to the preparation of the weekly activity. The allocation of the remaining hours will be assigned by the Library Coordinator. Sous la responsabilité du coordinateur de la bibliothèque, l'animatrice ou l’animateur du programme d'été aura la responsabilité de préparer et d’animer l’atelier du « Club de lecture d'été TD ». Ce programme jeunesse sera offert une journée en français et une journée en anglais. Comme cet emploi est financé dans le cadre « Emploi d'été du Canada 2014 », la/le titulaire doit être un(e) étudiant(e) âgé(e) entre 15 et 30 ans et doit obligatoirement être inscrit(e) aux études à plein temps pour la session d’automne 2014. Description La personne choisi devra travailler de manière autonome dans ses recherches, sa planification et tout ce qui se rattache au « Club de lecture d’été TD ». Pour chaque atelier; mardi et mercredi après-midi, l’animatrice ou l’animateur devra préparer une activité d’accueil pour les jeunes participants servant à encadrer le début de l’activité. Cette activité d’une durée de deux (2) heures devra être empreinte de créativité, contenir de la musique, une ou des histoires, un jeu et un bricolage en lien avec le thème de la semaine. L’activité hebdomadaire proposée devra être préparée dans la semaine précédant l’activité et présentée de manière globale au coordonnateur. Responsabilités principales 1. Préparer, organiser et animer le « Club de lecture d'été TD ». 2. Opérer un kiosque d’information durant la journée de l’amitié (14 juin) afin de recruter les participants. 3. Outre les six (6) heures d’atelier avec les jeunes (comprenant 30 minutes avant et après) l’animateur consacrera de seize (16) à dix-huit (18) heures à la préparation de son atelier. L’emploi du temps des heures restantes sera déterminé par le coordonnateur selon les besoins de celui-ci.
