Built around a pulpmill in the early 1900s, the
village started losing its inhabitants after the
closing of the mill in 1927 and soon became a
ghost town. Come get immersed in an authentic
company town that still counts over 40 original
buildings including a convent-school, a general
store and the pulpmill. All the rooms in the
hotel above the general store were renovated
to meet the needs of the modern traveler while
maintaining the cultural charm of the village.
The main ticket office, parking, and entrance
to the historic village were also completely
rebuilt to improve the visitors’ experience upon
arrival. The village can be visited either on foot
or aboard an old streetcar. Impersonators of
typical characters from the old village add to
the authentic historical backdrop.
