*As noted by Dr. McCann (p.14, 31), in Baïlèro, lou is pronounced as [lo] although she
has not always transcribed it so in her IPA version. I have made the changes.
*McCann : McCann (note 12, p.32) suggests that çirca is a typographical error in the
Heugel manuscript. She has changed çirca to cerca ( French chercher). Normally ce or ci
do not require a cedilla under the c, because the following e or i automatically softens the
c articulation to [s]. It could be as well that when the song was transcribed, the e was so
closed in articulation that it sounded like [i].
