CCNP Security Update
CCNP Security Update
With market transitions such as cloud, mobility, and the “Internet of Things” creating
an increase not only in the prevalence, but impact and cost of network intrusions, there
is a growing demand by employers for network security engineers with a thorough
understanding of a holistic, end-to-end network security posture.
Industry forecasts show that, in the next five years, the number of network security
professionals will need to double, and most of these professionals will need the validation of
an industry certification.
Cisco’s CCNP Security Certification program has been updated to address market
requirements for network security engineers who have a thorough understanding of a
holistic, end-to-end network security posture. The redesign moves away from productrelated offerings to solution-focused learning covering the spectrum of Cisco network
security products and how they work together to provide a comprehensive network security
platform.
Summary of Changes
Cisco announced a redesign to their
CCNP Security Certification on the 21st
January 2014.
Existing exams will go end-of-life on
the 21st of April 2014.
In a demanding security environment, Cisco’s CCNP Security offers employers proof of jobready training and skills from experienced, professional-level network security engineers.
