This second edition of the Game History Annual Symposium reviews the history of gender in games in addition to documenting the emergence of a “third wave” of game feminism. The conference is organized around four avenues of research: the evolution of feminist discourses in the field of game studies, the transformation of gender representations in video games, the influence of women and sexual minorities on game design, as well as the evolution of gender dynamics in game communities (mutual aid, inequalities, homophobia, harassment, etc.). Open to the public, this conference will establish a dialogue with citizens on the solutions that have developed over time to avoid sexism and increase tolerance toward diversity in the game culture. Conference talks are presented in either French or English.
