We want to co ngratulate the 23 students o f Milto n High Scho o l who to o k the
DELF (Diplô m e d’Et ude s e n Langue Française ) and DALF (Diplô m e
Avancé e n Langue Française ) exams and earned qualifying grades. The
DELF/DALF Exams are o fficial qualificatio ns awarded by the French Ministry
o f Educatio n certifying a level o f fluency in French. This certificatio n is o fficially
reco gnized by the Euro pean Co nso rtium fo r Fo reign Languages, and
co nstitutes the equivalent o f the American TOEFL. Such certificatio n is useful
fo r scho o l reco rds, as well as co llege and jo b applicatio ns in Frenchspeaking co untries. Sco res are valid fo r life.
It is the first time such an exam was directly o rganized by a scho o l in the
Bo sto n area. As a result, we also want to praise Martine Fisher, head o f the
wo rld language department and Anne-Marie Lainé, DELF teacher, fo r their
hard wo rk.
