CALL FOR CANDIDATES
In accordance with the statutes of FEDARENE (see extract below), I am pleased to launch a call for
candidacies for the renewal of the Board of Administration – with the exception of the mandate of
Michael Geiβler, Secretary General, which has been renewed in 2015.
The following positions are open: President, Vice-Presidents, Treasurer and Secretary.
[Excerpt: 5-1 The members of the Board of Administration are elected by the General Assembly, in
separate ballots, in accordance with the provisions of Article 4-4.
The Board of Administration is composed of at least 12 members and a maximum of 16 members: a
President, a Secretary General, Vice-Presidents, a Secretary and a Treasurer. The position of Treasurer or
Secretary can be held by one of the Vice-Presidents.
The President is the political representative of a member of College 1, with a political mandate and a
field of competences relating to energy and/or the environment; or if such person is not available, the
President is a person representing a member of College 1 nominated (and thus recallable) by his/her
relevant political body. The Secretary General is chosen amongst the members of College 1.
The other members of the Board of Administration, between 10 and 14 members are chosen from
among the members of College 1 and College 2 (…) ].
In order to reinforce the coherence between the needs of the members and the European policies,
the Board of Administration proposes to focus on the following topics for the Vice-Presidency:

Renewable Energy sources;
Energy Efficiency;
Buildings;
Climate Actions;
-
Regional policies;
Mobility and Transport,
Circular Economy
etc …
I wish to remind you that Vice-Presidents must be elected bodies from Regional / Local
Governments or need to be presidents of agencies or Councils – They may be accompanied by the
Directors of Services or Agencies. Candidates for the position of Vice-President will commit
themselves to: being regularly present at the meetings of the Board and at FEDARENE events;
actively representing the FEDARENE at high-level EU meetings and relevant events; effectively
contributing to FEDARENE’s activities and missions.
If you are interested in one of these positions, please send a Motivation Letter and a Proposal of
Programme to my attention at Fedarene Brussels' office, 131, rue de Stassart, 1050 Brussels,
Belgium, by the 15th of August 2016.

APPEL A CANDIDATURES
Conformément aux statuts de la FEDARENE (cf extrait ci-dessous), j'ai le plaisir de lancer un appel à
candidature pour le renouvellement du Conseil d’Administration – à l‘exception du mandat du
Secrétaire Général, Michael Geissler, qui a été élu en 2015.
Les mandats suivants sont ouverts : Président, Vice-Président(e)s, Trésorier et Secrétaire.
[Extrait: 5-1 Les membres du Conseil d'Administration sont élus par l'Assemblée Générale, par
scrutins séparés, aux conditions définies à l'article 4-4.
Le Conseil d'Administration est constitué de 12 membres au minimum et de 16 membres au
maximum : un(e) Président(e), un(e) Secrétaire Générale(e), des Vice-président(e)s, un(e) Secrétaire
et un(e) Trésorier(e). Les postes de Trésorier(e) ou de Secrétaire peuvent être détenus par un(e) des
Vice-Président(e)s.
Le/La Président(e) est le/la représentant(e) politique d'un membre du Collège 1 chargé d'un mandat
politique et d'un domaine de compétences lié à l'énergie et/ou à l'environnement, ou à défaut une
personne représentant le membre du Collège 1 nommée (et de ce fait révocable) par l’autorité
politique compétente. Le/la Secrétaire Général(e) est choisi parmi les membres du Collège 1.
Pour les autres membres du Conseil d'Administration : de 10 à 14 membres seront choisis parmi les
membres des collèges 1 et 2 (…) ].
Afin de renforcer la cohérence entre les besoins des membres et les politiques européennes, le
Conseil d’Administration propose de recentrer les thématiques des Vice-présidents comme suit :
Bâtiments ;
- Mobilité et
Transport.
Actions Climat ;
- Economie circulaire
Politiques
Régionales ;
- etc ….
Par ailleurs, il est rappelé que les Vices Président(e)s doivent être des personnalités élues des
gouvernements régionaux/locaux, ou des présidents d’agences ou Conseils – Ils peuvent bien sûr
être accompagnés du directeur des services ou agences. Les candidat(e)s à la position de Vices
Président(e)s s’engagent à : être régulièrement présents aux réunions du Conseil d’Administration et
aux événements FEDARENE ; représenter activement la FEDARENE aux réunions de haut niveau avec
des représentants de l’Union européenne et autres évènements d’importance ; contribuer
effectivement aux activités et missions de la FEDARENE.

ABOUT PESCARA
REGION OF ABRUZZO
Abruzzo is a region of Italy, with an area of 10,763 square km and a population of 1.3 million. Its
western border lies 80 km (50 mi) east of Rome. The region is divided into the
four provinces of L'Aquila, Teramo, Pescara, and Chieti. Abruzzo borders the
region of Marche to the north, Lazio to the west and south-west, Molise to the
south-east, and the Adriatic Sea to the east. Geographically, Abruzzo is divided
into a mountainous area to the west, which includes the Gran Sasso D'italia,
and a coastal area to the east with beaches on the Adriatic sea.
Abruzzo is known as "the greenest region in Europe" as one third of its
territory, the largest in Europe, is set aside as national parks and protected
nature reserves: there are three national parks, one regional park, and 38
protected nature reserves. These ensure the survival of 75% of Europe's living species including rare
species, such as the small wading dotterel, golden eagle, Abruzzo chamois, Apennine wolf, and
Marsican brown bear. Abruzzo is also home to Calderone, Europe's southernmost glacier.

Pescara is served by the “Abruzzo Airport”, which is located at about 3 km from the centre of the
city. The following flights are available:

Daily domestic direct flights between Bergamo Orio al Serio, Milan Linate, Tourin and Pescara
Airport.
Between Bergamo Orio al Serio airport and Milan Central railway station, there is a direct

From Pescara Airport terminal to Pescara Centre (where most of the suggested hotels are located):
coach n. 38 departing every 15 minutes from the terminal (just in front of the airport exit) which will
take you to Pescara centre, bus stop "Pescara City Centre-Railway Station".
