Fort Telegraph Tamaracouta Télégraphe Saturday, July 9th / Samedi 9 Juillet 2005 • Scouts Canada CCJam’05 “All the news that hasn’t happened yet” Thanks for the Memories Week of Friendship ends A s the sun set, the wild west week Scouting activities at Tamaracouta came to a close. The official closing ceremonies were on Friday evening but the memories of CCJam live on in the hearts of all Scouts, Venturers and Scouters in attendance. Radish and Gooseberries opened the ceremonies by calling for the return of the spirit frisbees that were presented at the opening of the Jamboree. A special presentation of CCJam badges were given to the Veterans. Both the Canadian and CCJam flags were lowered; followed by Ross Miller and Mike Scott making a dedication of a CJ’07 banner. Baden-Powell delivered a special message to all in attendance. CCJam was officially declared closed by Ross Miller. Radish and Gooseberries thanked Geneviève Maillé and Kevin Ward the Youth Master of Ceremonies. Performances by Red October and Fighting Crime rocked the closing ceremonies long into the night. La semaine du Jamboree Canadien Central (L'ouest sauvage) est maintenant terminé; plaisir, soleil et laitue étaient au rendez-vous. Voici donc un résumé des points principaux de la soirée de clôture. Radish et Gooseberries ont rappelés les “Frisbees” de l’esprit du scoutisme. Cérémonie spéciale de remise de l'écusson du CCJam aux anciens combattants. La descente du drapeau canadien et de celui du CCJam. Ross Miller et Mike Scott ont dédicacé la bannière du CJ’07. Ross Miller a fait le discours de fermeture du camp. Un gros merci à nos maîtres de cérémonie Geneviève Maillé et Kevin Ward. La soirée c’est terminé par le rythme endiablé des groupes “Red October” et “Fighting Crime”. Badgers’ Club Contest Results L otto-Badge was won by Andrew Baldry from 1st Glen Cairn Scout Troop Craigellachie. Andrew won 140 badges. About $70 will be donated to the World Scout Brotherhood Fund. Lynx Patrol of 4th Petawawa Scout Troop in Cypress Hills won the 100 badges in the Patrol Contest. Duct Tape Discovered A fter searching for the duct tape all week, Scouter Dale of 1st Lucknow Venturers discovered that the bump under his sleeping bag was not a root, but a roll of duct tape. Mystery solved.
