Develop a comparative analysis of the protection of fundamental
rights and freedoms through their international and constitutional
foundations, in a perspective of globalization.
Understand the interactions of international and national systems
as well as the emergence of a global conception of the rule of
law. Evaluate the link between development of rights and
globalization of the law and the impact of human rights on law and
society.

- Various conceptions of human rights challenges around the
world today: universalism of rights, cultural relativism
- The right to life: the issue of dealth penalty, the scope of
the right to life and conflicts of rights: abortion, right to
die…, the effectiveness of its enforcement

- The protection of freedom of expression: principles and

- The challenges of Privacy Rights: privacy and autonomy
(sexual orientation, contraception, abortion…), privacy and new

Guy Scoffoni est Professeur à l’IEP d’Aix-en-Provence et
chargé de cours à la Faculté de droit d’Aix-Marseille. Il
enseigne principalement des questions de droit comparé, de
mondialisation et de droits de l’homme.
Il a été également Professeur-invité dans de nombreuses
institutions étrangères, notamment aux Etats-Unis
(Universités de Californie Los Angeles, San Diego, Loyola Los
Angeles, Hartford/Connecticut ou New York), en Europe
(Universités de Londres/UCL, Galway, Oslo, Louvain-La –
Neuve…), en Asie (Universités de Tokyo, Hong Kong,
Yeungnam/Corée du Sud,…) et aux Universités du Cap (Afrique
du Sud), Cordoba (Argentine), Adelaide (Australie), Montréal
et Toronto(Canada).
Il a publié cinq livres (Dalloz , Economica…) et plus de centvingt articles, notes ou chroniques en droit constitutionnel,
droit comparé et libertés fondamentales dans des revues
françaises ou étrangères.
