FRENCH VISITORS In Des Moines on a program through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, US Department of State, to learn about Managing Ethnic Diversity in various US cities. Iowa Council for International Understanding (ICIU) managed the professional program in Des Moines. JOHNSTON HIGH SCHOOL EXCHANGE WITH SAINT-ETIENNE Mrs. Mary Moermond, Johnston High School French teacher, hosted 20 students and 2 teachers from St. Louis High School, Saint-Etienne area, from April 25 to May 4, 2005. The Greater Des Moines Sister City Commission provided student gifts of Sister City t-shirts for the students, Amana wooden trays for the teachers, and $48 for admission to the Des Moines Botanical Center. It was the first trip to Des Moines for both teachers – Mrs. Pascale Bruers and Ms. Malika Nacer. Kathy Andriano-Narber and Martha Nelson from the Greater Des Moines Sister City Commission provided assistance.
