Is this a wristwatch, a desk watch, or designed for
the instrument panel of a plane or helicopter? The
Khaki Takeoff Auto Chrono is all three. Developed
for Air Zermatt, the Swiss helicopter transport and
rescue service, the case of this pilot's watch can be
removed from the strap to adapt to every situation,
on land and in the air. Incorporating characteristic
elements from cockpit instruments right down to the
presentation box, features include a rotating flange,
which is operated by the bezel, to record countdown
times. The technology may be resolutely of today,
the inspiration for this watch comes from the
chronometer that Hamilton produced during the
second world war, then considered to be the most
complex aviation timer. Proposed as a 1,999-piece

Développée pour Air Zermatt, la célèbre compagnie
suisse de transport et de sauvetage par hélicoptère,
cette montre de pilote est en effet détachable pour
s’adapter à toutes les situations, sur terre comme
dans les airs. Reproduisant les caractéristiques des
instruments d’un cockpit jusque dans son écrin, elle
dispose notamment d’un réhaut tournant
actionnable par la lunette pour enregistrer un
compte à rebours. Si sa technologie est résolument
moderne, elle puise son inspiration dans le
chronomètre qu’Hamilton produisait pendant la
deuxième guerre mondiale, considéré comme la plus
