In the museum next door is the Treasure of Canoscio, a rare collection of liturgical objects from the 5th-6th centuries. � Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall). 14th-century building, with the tall Civic Tower standing opposite. � Palazzo Vitelli a S. Egidio. Built by the Vitelli family in the 1500s, it has splendid decorated ceilings. � Palazzo Albizzini and the Burri Collection. This noble mansion holds the works of Alberto Burri, the great contemporary master from Città di Castello, also on exhibit in the old tobacco drying sheds located just outside the town. � Palazzo Vitelli alla Cannoniera (Municipal Picture Gallery). On display in the magnificent Vitelli residence are masterpieces by Raphael, Luca Signorelli, and Raffaellino del Colle. Città di Castello conserve la noble physionomie Renaissance qu’elle acquit suite au renouvellement promu au XVIe siècle par la seigneurie des Vitelli. La ville fut un importante carrefour artistique, grâce également aux longs séjours qu’y firent des personnages tels que Luca Signorelli, Raphaël, Giorgio Vasari, Rosso Fiorentino. L’artisanat y a lui aussi une grande tradition, notamment dans l’art typographique et le tissage. � Le Duomo et le Musée du Duomo. La cathédrale regroupe différents styles de construction et abrite la “Transfiguration du Christ”, chef-d’œuvre de Rosso Fiorentino. Dans le musée attenant, le Trésor de Canoscio présente une rare collection d’objets liturgiques du Ve et VIe siècles. � Palazzo Comunale ou Palazzo dei Priori. C’est un édifice du XIVe siècle, face auquel se dresse un haut beffroi. � Palazzo Vitelli a S. Egidio. Erigé au XVIe siècle par les Vitelli, il possède de splendides plafonds décorés. � Palazzo Albinizzi et Collection Burri. Un noble édifice qui conserve les œuvres d’Alberto Burri, le grand maître contemporain né à Città di Castello, également exposées dans les anciens séchoirs à tabac qui se trouvent aux abords immédiats de la ville. � Palazzo Vitelli alla Cannoniera (Pinacothèque municipale). Des chefs-d’œuvre de Raphaël, Luca Signorelli, Raffaellino del Colle sont exposés dans cette très belle résidence des Vitelli. Città di Castello ha il nobile aspetto rinascimentale assunto con il rinnovamento cinquecentesco promosso dalla signoria dei Vitelli. La città fu importante crocevia delle arti, grazie anche ai lunghi soggiorni di artisti quali Luca Signorelli, Raffaello, Giorgio Vasari, il Rosso Fiorentino. Anche l’artigianato ha grandi tradizioni, soprattutto nell’arte tipografica e nella tessitura. � Duomo e Museo del Duomo. La chiesa mescola elementi costruttivi di varie epoche e conserva la Trasfigurazione di Cristo, capolavoro del Rosso Fiorentino. Edificio trecentesco fronteggiato dall’alta torre civica. � Palazzo Vitelli a S. Egidio. Eretto dai Vitelli nel Cinquecento, ha splendidi soffitti decorati. � Palazzo Albizzini e Collezione Burri. Il nobile palazzo conserva le opere di Alberto Burri, il grande maestro contemporaneo nativo di Città di Castello, esposte anche negli ex Essiccatoi Tabacchi, appena fuori città. � Palazzo Vitelli alla Cannoniera (Pinacoteca comunale). Nella splendida residenza dei Vitelli sono esposti capolavori di Raffaello, Luca Signorelli, Raffaellino del Colle. The noble Renaissance character of Città di Castello comes from the renovations carried out in the 1500s under the rule of the Vitelli family. This town was an important crossroads of the arts, thanks largely to the long periods spent here by artists such as Luca Signorelli, Raphael, Giorgio Vasari, and Rosso Fiorentino. There is also a great tradition of crafts here, in particular those of textiles and the art of printing. � Duomo and the Duomo Museum. Im Museum ist der Canoscio-Schatz ausgestellt, eine seltene Sammlung liturgischer Gegenstände des 5.-6. Jahrhunderts. � Palazzo Comunale oder dei Priori. Ein Gebäude aus dem 14. Jahrhundert, gegenüber der hohe Stadtturm. � Palazzo Vitelli a S. Egidio. Der Palast wurde im 16. Jahrhundert von den Vitelli errichtet und hat wundervoll bemalte Decken. � Palazzo Albizzini und Sammlung Burri. Das edle Gebäude beherbergt die Werke von Alberto Burri, der bedeutende, in Città di Castello geborene zeitgenössische Maestro. Diese Werke sind auch in den ehemaligen Tabaktrockenböden etwas außerhalb der Stadt ausgestellt. � Palazzo Vitelli alla Cannoniera (Gemeindepinakothek). In der prachtvollen Residenz der Familie Vitelli sind Meisterwerke von Raffaello, Luca Signorelli und Raffaellino del Colle ausgestellt.
