communs avec les modles 180 et 190, Mercedes-Benz russit la gageure de commercialiser, partir de mai 1955, une
voiture de sport qui cotait moins de la moiti du prix de la 300 SL. C'tait une voiture extrmement robuste, destine une
clientle plus intresse par une voiture lgante que rellement par la performance. Trs bien construite, comme toujours
chez Mercedes, c'est une voiture qui permet un usage quotidien et dont nombre d'exemplaires ont accompli un
kilomtrage impressionnant. La voiture tait propose en trois versions : " roadster ", cabriolet avec une finition assez
sommaire, " coup " plus luxueux avec un hard-top et " Tourensports-wagen ", destin une utilisation sport-routire,
allge, avec des portes chancres dpourvues de vitres et un saute-vent en lieu et place du pare-brise. L'exemplaire
propos est impressionnant tant sa restauration a t pousse. En regardant cette 190 SL, on comprend immdiatement la
qualit du travail effectu en carrosserie, mcanique, intrieur. Le propritaire, vendeur galement de la 300 SL Roadster de
la vente, a achet cette voiture sans aucun dossier de factures, mais il suffit de se mettre derrire son volant, dmarrer
et rouler pour comprendre que cette automobile est magnifique sous tous les plans. Rien n'a t laiss au hasard, sa
sellerie en cuir rouge est comme neuve, ainsi que les moquettes et la capote du mme coloris. La peinture est de
grande qualit et la combinaison de couleurs est d'une grande lgance. Pour tout ceux qui dsirent acqurir une 190 SL,

clientele more interested in a stylish machine than one of performance. Very well built, as it has always been with
Mercedes, this car could be used on a daily basis and there were a number of 190SL that have known to have
covered very impressive mileages. The car was offered in three versions: a roadster, a convertible with a finish that
was rather crude, a coup with more luxury and a hardtop, and the 'Tourensports-wagen', which was intended as a
more serious sportster that was lighter, with window-less doors and a flyscreen instead of the windshield. The car on
offer is impressive as its restoration has been very well executed. Looking at the 190 SL, we immediately understand
the quality of work done in terms of bodywork, mechanicals and interior. The owner, who is also selling a 300SL
Roadster, bought this car with no backlog of bills, just got behind the wheel, and started using it to understand that
this car is beautiful in every way. Nothing was left to chance - the car's red leather upholstery is like new, and the
carpets and the hood are of the same color. The paint is of a high quality and the colour combination is very elegant.
