As a tribute to Paul Bocuse, Lyon’s most famous chef, the market was renamed « Les Halles de Lyon-Paul Bocuse » in 2006. Inaugurated in 2014, it is set in the heart of a monumental structure of metal and glass at the confluence of the city’s two rivers (the Rhône and the Saône). The Musée des Confluences is a museum of natural history and societies with strong links to Science and Society issues. It presents a journey through time, and across continents, to explore the world around us. Antarctica exhibition This unique exposition is a beautiful immersion in the land of Antarctica through the eyes of photographers, filmmakers and scientists. André Leroi-Gourhan exhibit A fascinating exhibition of the University of Lyon 3's collection of ethnological objects will take place next October at the Manufacture des Tabacs (Université Lyon 3). The exhibition will pursue three goals: Highlight the collection of ethnological objects given by the Colonial Museum of the Chamber of Commerce of Lyon to Lyon 3 University in 1947. This will be an occasion to present Lyon 3’s role in commercial exchanges and its links with the French colonies at the time. Study the dynamics of different human groups and individual humans through their links to objects, with the object as common denominator. Look at our current relationship with objects and the social status of objects in our societies.
