réalisations publiques et privées, une veine créatrice limpide, élégante et
sensuelle à la fois qui semble être là depuis toujours.
Bruno Moinard Editions confirme ce dialogue qu’il engage depuis le début
entre le design et l’artisanat. Cannage, vitrail, tapisserie, laque, papier
roulé, miroir ancien, verre soufflé… ont été ainsi puisés au coeur de leur
noble sérail pour être réinterprétés d’une manière contemporaine. A travers
ces nouvelles pièces, c’est à la main de l’homme que Bruno Moinard rend
hommage, à son caractère irremplaçable, et à autant de savoir-faire riches
et variés dont il s’inspire pour créer des meubles singuliers, forts et raffinés.
THE LATEST FAVORITES FROM BRUNO MOINARD EDITIONS
There is something in the furniture of Bruno Moinard that reflects his many
public and private projects, a clear creative vein, elegant and sensual at the
same time, that seems to be there from the beginning.
Bruno Moinard Editions confirms this dialogue that has always existed
between design and craftsmanship. Cane-work, stained glass, tapestries,
lacquer, rolled paper, antique mirrors and blown glass have all been brought
from their noble seraglio to be reinterpreted in a contemporary way. Through
these new pieces, it is handwork that Bruno Moinard pays tribute to, its
unique character and the many forms of rich and varied know-how that have
inspired him to create furniture that is powerful, unique and refined.
Fidèle ambassadeur des arts décoratifs français, Bruno Moinard a enrichi sa
collection à bâtons rompus de pièces de plus petite dimension, luminaires,
bougeoirs, centres de table…. Des objets indépendants les uns des autres,
faciles à associer et surtout à emporter, parallèlement aux canapés, tables,
bureau, buffets et consoles… qui restent les pièces fortes de la galerie.
A faithful ambassador of French decorative arts, Bruno Moinard has
periodically enriched his collection with pieces of smaller dimensions,
including lights, candleholders, and table centrepieces. These objects are
independent of each other, easy to combine and take away, and exist in
parallel with the sofas, tables, desks, buffets and consoles, which make up
the major part of the gallery.
Cette quinzaine de nouvelles pièces démontrent également toute la passion
que l’architecte d’intérieur voue au sur-mesure depuis le début, jouant ainsi
avec les ambivalences, les mariages insolites et harmonieux afin de créer
des atmosphères à chaque fois uniques.
These fifteen or so new pieces also demonstrate the passion for made-tomeasure that the interior designer has been dedicated to from the beginning,
playing with ambivalences, unusual and harmonious combinations to create
atmospheres that are each time unique.
A découvrir, entre autres, la lanterne Ambato avec son abat-jour en vitrail
ancien soufflé bouche, la chaise Pyla et son dossier en papier roulé, le bout
de canapé Sutton en teck et laque céladon voilée de poudre d’or ou encore
le canapé Shiga dont les coussins sont réalisés en tapisserie d’Aubusson
d’après une œuvre peinte de Bruno Moinard…
Among the pieces, you can discover the Ambato lantern with its shade of
antique blown stained glass, the Pyla chair with rolled-paper back, the Sutton
canapé-end in teak and celadon lacquer veiled with gold dust, or the Shiga
canapé with its cushions in Aubusson tapestry based on a painting by Bruno
Moinard...

BRUNO MOINARD EN QUELQUES MOTS
C’est dans ses origines dieppoises, dans sa fascination pour la mer et la
lactescence des côtes d’albâtre que Bruno Moinard a puisé son amour de
la lumière, des lignes simples et fortes, de la transparence et de l’essence
des choses. Diplômé de l’Ecole nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et
des métiers d’art, il débute sa carrière en 1979 avec des collaborations
prestigieuses, notamment au sein de l’agence Ecart International fondée par
Andrée Putman qu’il quittera en 1995 pour fonder sa propre agence, 4BI.
Minimalisme chaleureux, sobriété sans austérité, élégance et intemporalité…
c’est autour de ces trois qualificatifs que se définit le travail de Bruno
Moinard. Et autour d’une approche du luxe, d’un regard porté sur les choses
qui consiste à gommer les effets, à rendre précieux l’envers du décor, à
abonder dans l’art du détail et de la finition. Créant de nouveaux espaces
tout en en relisant d’autres, les réalisations signées 4BI sont des travaux
ciselés sur mesure afin de retraduire des références du passé tout en restant
contemporain, de rendre chaleureux l’intérieur le plus épuré, de cultiver
l’art de la simplicité, de porter une grande attention à ses clients tout en
s’effaçant. Loin d’être ascétique, cette dernière porte en elle une part de
rêve. Car ici, le minimalisme est toujours chargé de sens, ramené à l’échelle
humaine.
Pour ses appartements et ses maisons privées, ses grands hôtels, ses
boutiques de luxe, ses espaces publics, ses scénographies et ses espaces
culturels, Bruno Moinard met autant de cœur et de passion à travailler la
lumière, la clé de tout, qu’à déterminer le choix de matières nobles, le bois,
le cuir, le marbre, les tissages rares, le bronze. Et cela aussi bien pour le
mobilier qu’il dessine pour les sociétés italiennes Promemoria et Interna,
pour Ecart International, Chevalier Edition et pour sa propre ligne, Bruno
Moinard Editions.
BRUNO MOINARD IN A FEW WORDS
It’s from his origins in Dieppe, and his fascination for the sea and the milky
alabaster of the coastline that Bruno Moinard developed his love for light, for
strong, simple lines, transparency and the essence of things.
A graduate of the French National School of Applied Arts and Crafts, he began
his career in 1979 with several prestigious collaborations, notably within
the agency Ecart International, founded by Andrée Putman, before leaving
in 1995 to found his own agency, 4BI. Minimalism with warmth, simplicity
without austerity, elegance and timelessness: it is around these qualities that
the work of Bruno Moinard is defined. And also around a certain approach to
luxury, a focus on things that that consists of softening the effects, making
the behind-the-scenes elements precious, abounding in the art of detail and
finish. Creating new spaces while giving a new reading to the others, the
creations of 4BI are bespoke works wrought to retranslate references to the
past while still remaining contemporary, to bring warmth to the minimalist
interior, to cultivate the art of simplicity, to pay close attention to clients
while remaining in the background. Far from being ascetic, it carries with it
a dream of things.
For here, minimalism is always full of meaning, and returned to human
scale. For his apartments and private houses, grand hotels, luxury stores,
public spaces, scenographies and cultural spaces, Bruno Moinard puts as
much heart and passion into the working of light, the key to everything, as
to the choice of noble materials, including wood, leather, marble, delicate
woven and bronze. This is equally true of the furniture he designed for the
Italian companies Promemoria and Interna, for Ecart International, Chevalier
Editions, and for his collection for Bruno Moinard Editions.
