L’inspiration initiale du “Jardin des Secrets” est née du concept du temps et de l’univers et
se concentre donc sur la Création. Il représente la rivière de la vie et reflète le paysage aux
abords de Reford Garden.
Nous pouvons nous identifier fortement à la rivière de la vie et voulions dons qu’elle fasse
partie intégrante de notre conception. Le jardin, tel qu’il est, est vraiment une interprétation
personnelle du dossier de conception et veux montrer l’émerveillement que l’on peut
ressentir devant les secrets de la terre et de l’univers. A la fin de notre parcours, nous
avons tant de questions sans réponses. Qui sommes-nous? D’où venons-nous? Où
allons-nous? Trouverons-nous réponses à nos questions, sont-elles destinées à rester un secret?
Au bout du jardin, il y a une sculpture, une forme abstraite d’une fleur de Lotus, image
universelle de la sagesse, représentant la connaissance et l’épanouissement.
Nous espérons que le jardin plaira et stimulera les personnes de tous âges.
The Garden of Secrets
The initial inspiration for our ‘Garden of Secrets’ sprung from the concept of time and the
universe and focuses very much on the process of creation. It is representative of the river
of life and reflects the local landscape surrounding Reford Gardens.
We identified strongly with the river and wanted to make it an integral part of our design.
The garden as conceived is very much a personal interpretation of the design brief and
reflects a sense of wonder at the many secrets of the Earth and the universe. At the end of
our journey we are left with so many unanswered questions about who we are, where we’ve
come from and where we are heading. Will our questions ever be answered or are they
destined to remain a secret?
As we reach the final part of the garden we come to a sculpture, an abstracted form of a
Lotus flower which is representative of knowledge and enlightenment and is the universal
image of wisdom. It is hoped the garden will stimulate and appeal to people of all ages.
Plant List
The plants selected reflect plant evolution throughout earth’s history and consist of the
following; Dryopteris wallichiana, Miscanthus sinesis, ‘Rotsilber’, Rudbeckia maxima, Fatsia
japonica, Perovskia atriplicifolia ‘Blue Spire’ and Betula papyrifera.
