and relate to the specific functions of each type of Leader. Additional training programs enhance the acquisition of further skills
and knowledge.
Scouts Australia’s Wood Badge Training Program conforms to the requirements of the World Organization of the Scout
Movement (WOSM), and also conforms to the Australian national standards that allow participants to earn VET qualifications.

Australian Jamboree 2016
3 – 14 January 2016

young person is not only a great experience but provides an enormous opportunity for personal development for those who
attend - it is likely to be one of the highlights of their lives. The fun and magic of a Major National Event is the result of bringing
together a large number of Scouts from all over Australia and the World to live and play together in a Scouting environment. The

younger Scouts between 1940 to 1947 due to the Second World War, Rover Scouts have dutifully maintained their vigil every
year since. The vigil sees teams of five or six Rovers maintain half hour shifts to guard the memorial from sundown on ANZAC
eve till the start of the dawn service. This allows over 120 rovers to be involved overnight, and many stay on to form an honour
guard during the King's Park dawn service itself. All members of Scouting are invited to the State War Memorial on ANZAC Eve to
commemorate ANZAC Day and to watch the Rover Scouts stand guard.
