The news this Tuesday, February 25, 2014 has three significant titles on the

North Kivu: Families displaced without humanitarian assistance in Masisi
Thousands of displaced families who have come together for the most part,
the chief town of Masisi territory (North Kivu) are still not assisted. These IDPs
came especially Kahutu, Kasho, Crowded, Bukombo, Lwashi, Nyabiondo,
west of Masisi center. They had fled clashes between the Armed Forces of the
Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) and the militia of the Alliance of
Congolese Patriots for a Free and Sovereign Congo (APCLS). The fighting started since last weekend.

Congo - Kinshasa : Massacre of Masisi, the UN investigation
Democratic Republic of Congo , after the first reports of the death of 70 people in a remote area of Masisi in the East, the United
Nations Mission in Congo went there to try to learn more.
The first incident of January 30 . From the evidence collected , that day , two men of the Hunde ethnic group were killed in their
fields. Follows a cycle of bloody ethnic reprisals : Hunde against Hutus. The FDC against the Nyatura . And vice verca .
Conclusion: six villages burnt , churches and schools looted. 35 confirmed dead , some shot , others by machete. 40 people
were also abducted by the FDC and taken to an unknown destination. Impossible in the short term, for investigators to locate
these people and see if they are still alive. For this cycle of violence is still ongoing. United Nations investigators have been
limited in their fieldwork . The area is difficult to access, with virtually no telephone network. And while attacks are underway,
much of the population remains holed up in the forest.
