Smart Card DESCRIPTION The ATS Configuration Card is a proximity card using smart card technology. The Smart Card Reader may be connected to the RS485 BUS or magnetic stripe interfaces with little or no configuration. SETTING THE READER ADDRESS The reader is supplied with the default address of RAS 16. To change the address, the following method should be used: a) Connect the reader as per the Installation Guide to the ATS BUS with at least one LCD RAS connected and polled. Two beeps will be sounded when power is connected. Badge the reader configuration card (ATS1481) until the reader beeps once. Wait a few seconds and the reader will commence beeping its current address, three times. Long beep: DIP switch setting = 1 Short beep: DIP switch setting = 0 DIP switch 1 beeps first. RAS 16 is four long beeps. Before the address beeps finish, badge the configuration card once again. The reader address will increment to address 1: CARDS DEFAULT VALUES Options 1. LEDs On Line 2. LEDs Off Line 3. Valid Card (LED) Flash 4. Night Light 5. Protocol Four short beeps. Continue badging the configuration card till the correct RAS address is reached. With ATS1190/92 FW version 7 or above the address will continue to increment one address for each badge until address 15 is reached. The next badge will return the reader address to RAS 16. With ATS1190/92 FW version 6 or below the address will decrement one address for each badge starting with address 15 until address 1 is reached.
