d’attribuer le 2000ème Randonneur 5000 et le hasard fait qu’il a été attribué à un randonneur
espagnol, Mr SANTIAGO-SANTAMARIA Francisco.

est bien là avec 15 japonais, 8 espagnols (dont 1 femme), 5 français, 2
allemands, 1 croate, 1 canadien, 1 belge et 1 brésilien.
Frank HERBRIG a pu valider 2 Randonneurs 10000 cette année, avec PBP 2007 et PBP 2011 et bien sûr des
brevets différents pour chaque Randonneur 10000.

Quatre SUPER RANDONNEES étaient proposées en 2013.
La SUPER RANDONNEE de HAUTE PROVENCE est de loin la plus fréquentée. Elle a totalisé 53
inscriptions et 25 homologations. La représentation internationale y est forte (Autriche, Brésil, Espagne,
Etats-Unis, Italie, Japon, Suède, Suisse). Pour la première fois, cette SR a été programmée par un club
sur cinq jours en formule Touriste (14 licenciés de l’AS EUROCLEAR). Merci à Robert GUILLOT !
Le DAUPHINE GRATINE est en stagnation (5 inscriptions et 2 homologations); néanmoins les
internationaux sont présents (Japon, Suisse, Taiwan). Max FANCOLI, ayant pris le départ un 12 avril,
malgré un temps froid et humide, a réussi l’épreuve en formule Randonneur !
Ce n’est d’ailleurs pas forcément un bon exemple. Sur les Super Randonnées, les mauvaises conditions
météo sont la principale cause des abandons. Suivant l’exemple des alpinistes, sachons faire preuve de
sagesse et d’humilité face à la montagne.
Parmi les deux SR ouvertes en 2013, L’OURS CATHARE (Pyrénées Audoises et Ariégeoises) affiche
100% de réussite (4 inscriptions, 4 homologations). La SR PYRENEES-PIRINEOS (Hautes Pyrénées, entre
France et Espagne), a compté 8 inscriptions et 4 homologations. Elle est déjà célèbre hors de nos
frontières, puisque le randonneur britannique Marcus JACKSON-BAKER a raconté son expérience dans la
revue des AUDAX UNITED KINGDOM (Arrivée n°122, p. 46-49).

La Super Randonnée a connu un remarquable essor à l’étranger. Exportée grâce au RANDONNEUR
10000, force est de constater que l’épreuve plaît en elle-même. Parce que chaque SR est une aventure
inoubliable, un défi personnel et un hymne à la beauté des montagnes.
Le randonneur canadien Ron HIMSCHOOT, après avoir effectué la SR 6 PASSES 600 (Oregon), a
écrit : « De tous les 600 que j’ai faits, c’est celui qui a représenté le plus grand défi. La plupart des
routes étaient calmes, avec seulement une voiture de temps en temps. Les paysages étaient
spectaculaires. Les routes étaient assez isolées, les commerces et l’eau étaient rares, de sorte que
l’épreuve demandait plus d’autonomie que la plupart de nos brevets (...). J’ai roulé seul. Il n’y avait que
mon vélo, les montagnes et moi (...). De façon générale, je dirais que l’épreuve a saisi le véritable esprit
de la randonnée de longue distance ».
« It was the most challenging 600 km I have ever ridden. Most of the roads were quiet with only the occasional car. The scenery
was spectacular. The course was quite remote and services and water were scarce, so the ride demanded even more self-reliance
than most of our brevets (...). I rode solo, so it was just me, my bicycle and the mountains (...). Overall, I would say the ride
captured the true spirit of randonneuring ».
A l’heure où ces lignes sont écrites, il existe 12 Super Randonnées homologuées par l’ACP. Elles se
situent dans les pays suivants : Allemagne, Croatie, Espagne (2), Etats-Unis (3), Japon (3), Slovénie,
Taiwan. D’autres sont en cours de création.
Au chapitre des homologations, les Etats-Unis en comptent 3, la Croatie 5, l’Espagne 11, l’Allemagne
24 et le Japon 106. A elle seule, la SR FUJI a totalisé, en une année, 86 homologations, soit quatre de
plus que l’ensemble des SR françaises depuis leur origine en 2009. Félicitations à AUDAX JAPON !
L’ACP remercie chaleureusement les organisateurs internationaux pour leur admirable contribution
au développement des Super Randonnées.

La SR BELCHEN SATT (Fribourg-en-Brisgau, Allemagne) traverse
la Forêt Noire, le Jura et les Vosges. Contrôle au sommet
du Schilchzimmersattel (Jura Suisse).
Michael WOLFE a effectué sa SR 6 PASSES 600 en vélo

UNE NOUVELLE SUPER RANDONNEE EN 2014
GARBURE ET PIPERADE : C’est une superbe SR entre Béarn et Pays Basque, imaginée par Pierre
GADIOU (organisateur du défi L’Immortelle Cyclo) : « A cheval sur la frontière franco-espagnole, ce
circuit au départ d'Oloron-Sainte Marie (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) visite le Béarn, l'Aragon, la Navarre et
la Soule. Il permet de gravir une quinzaine de cols parmi les plus beaux et les plus difficiles des
Pyrénées Occidentales ». Je remercie l’auteur du parcours d’avoir si généreusement fait partager sa
passion pour ces montagnes, et mis à notre disposition sa profonde connaissance de la région.
Cette Super Randonnée de 13.600 m de dénivelé mérite bien son nom : elle est aussi gargantuesque
que la garbure et aussi pimentée que la piperade. Prévoir beaucoup d’appétit... et de petits braquets !
Ambiance sauvage sur la petite route du col d’Errozaté,
perdue dans la montagne, suspendue entre ciel et terre.
Une bonne occasion d’observer des vautours fauves...
Depuis le col d’Erroimendy, on gagne le Port de Larrau
puis l’Espagne. La frontière franco-espagnole est
franchie quatre fois au cours de la randonnée.
