BIOGRAPHIE DAMIEN VANNI

Depuis des années, Damien Vanni chante, joue de la guitare, compose et écrit en français et en
anglais. « L'acoustique est pour moi une forme de liberté absolue, je peux jouer où je veux, quand je
veux. C'est aussi et surtout une esthétique brute, pure, sans filet que j'affectionne tout particulièrement
», dit-il.
Depuis l’émission La Nouvelle Star, cru 2009, on sait le vibrato, la puissance montante de sa voix, son
jeu de guitare singulier de simplicité et de complexité. Damien Vanni se révèle lui-même, un chanteur,
auteur et compositeur habité.
Entouré des Chancellors, trois musiciens de talent qui viennent comme lui de Haute Savoie, il délivre
un folk affirmé sur les scènes françaises (à Lyon au Ninkasi Kao, à Paris à l’Alhambra, au Réservoir
ou au Gibus, entre autres).
Véritable phénomène sur le net (ses vidéos sur Youtube atteignent 1,5 millions de vues), il a sorti fin
octobre 2011 un premier EP, Love Scars, en physique et en digital. Des mélodies au croisement de
courants folk, soul, pop produites par le label communautaire BuzzMyBand.
Parmi ses influences, Éric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Ben Harper, Keziah Jones, Bjork, Miossec, Feist
figurent dans son panthéon. Mais le choc, ce fut la découverte de Richie Haven. « Il m'a permis de
définir ce que la musique représente vraiment pour moi. Pas de concessions, une totale implication
proche de la transe, le voir vomir ses émotions sur scène avec une telle force et fragilité m'a
littéralement transcendé.»

Damien Vanni has been singing, playing the guitar, and writing music and lyrics in French and English
for years. "For me, the acoustic guitar medium represents absolute freedom - I can play where and
when I want. It's also, and more significantly, a pure, raw, and virtually limitless aesthetic that moves
me more than any other."
Ever since the 2009 season of "La Nouvelle Star" (American Idol in France), one cannot fail to recognize
Damien's voice - his vibrato and powerful crescendos - and his unique guitar playing style, both simple
and complex. Damien Vanni reveals himself - a singer and song-writer - through his music.
In the company of the Chancellors, three talented musicians, also from Haute-Savoie, he delivers a
strong and distinct folk style of music on the French stage (the Ninkasi Kao in Lyon, the Alhambra, the
Reservoir and the Gibus in Paris, among others).
Already a web phenomenon (his Youtube videos have reached 1.5 million views), he released his first
EP in October 2011, entitled Love Scars, in disk and digital form. Its melodies combine folk, soul, and
pop trends.
Among his numerous inspirations are Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Ben Harper, Keziah Jones, Bjork,
Miossec, and Feist. But it was the discovery of Richie Haven that became a revelation for Damien as an
