Choose any domain: arts, sports, travel, science, technology, cooking … Vocabulaire: To advise ( a piece of advice = un conseil) : conseiller To persuade / to convince To suggest To encourage To arouse, to provoke : susciter (to arouse enthusiasm / interest) To give rise = to lead = to result in = susciter (des vocations) Introduction au sujet – quelques idées: TV has got an educational purpose / has educational value: it provides easy access to films (cable TV, video films, documentaries…), it broadens people’s horizons thanks to educative programmes, plays, operas, concerts , gives viewers more knowledge about foreign countries and informs people about politics (debates, news…), science, arts … The great variety of channels enables/permits / allows everyone to find a suitable broadcast / sth that is likely to please them / entertain them such as plays, variety shows, chat-shows, soap-operas... The success of characters in TV series has meant many are now trying to follow in their footsteps People are following a career path for that reason Her/His success has inspired/led many to follow his vocation/career path' This TV programme has led people to feel interested in the field. en partenariat avec epicureweb.fr 6 PISTES DE REFLEXION - Sujet B : Here are the profiles of 3 successful scientists. You have interviewed one of them. Write out the interview. Introduction: Interviewing a scientist is a great way to get to know a professional in a career field of interest to you, potentially make a valuable connection and determine whether you might want to become a scientist. I have chosen to interview + name of the scientist because / as / since … Quelques exemples de questions : - Where did he/she grow up? Where did he/she study? How did he/she choose his/her job? Why is he/she so successful in this occupation? Was he/she inspired by someone/something? What are your best qualities and how would those qualities help you in this job? What is the most important thing you learned at school? What are the qualities that make a good scientist? A bad scientist? If you could choose one super power, what would it be and why? What led him/her to become a scientist? Why did he/she choose that particular branch of science? What does he/she like / dislike in his/her job? What does he/she specifically work on? What other career paths did he/she consider before becoming a scientist? What advice would he/she give to a student considering a career in science? en partenariat avec epicureweb.fr 7
