Directions:
Take I-95 (Washington Capital Beltway) to
exit 11A, Pennsylvania Avenue South/East
(Route 4). Follow for seven miles to Upper

KATHERINE REID MEMORIAL TROPHY
The “Katherine Reid Memorial Trophy” is donated by Katherine’s many
friends in memory of the kindness she showed to all. This trophy will be
presented to the Large Pony or Junior Hunter accumulating the highest
number of points at the February Barracks, Maryland National, April
Rose Mount, James River Hunt, Upperville, Loudoun, Warrenton Pony
and Middleburg Classic Horse Shows. The trophy will be presented at
the Middleburg Classic Horse Show.

13. ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES: Prior to each show, arrivals can be accompanied
ONLY between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. unless prior arrangements have
been made with the management of the facility. EARLY ARRIVALS will be charged
a $10 per day stall charge for any stalls being used more than two days prior to each
show. LATE DEPARTURES must be arranged in advance with the show management.
14. FEED: Hay, grain and bedding may be purchased on the grounds at a reasonable
market price.
15. SCHOOLING: There will be a warm-up area. These areas are designated for use only by
horses warming up for the class in progress. Horses being schooled or exercised should
use designated schooling areas.
16. EXHIBITOR NUMBER: Exhibitor numbers for the show may be picked up at the Show
Office the day before the first day of the show. All exhibitors are to wear a number.
17. QUESTIONS: Should any questions or disputes arise that are not provided for in the
rules, the same shall be referred to the Show Committee, whose decisions are final.
18. RESPONSIBILITIES: The horse show, their officials and employees will not be
responsible for any accident or loss which may occur to any exhibitor, spectator, guest,
rider, groom, attendant or other employee, animal or equipment at the show. The show
facility does not undertake the care, custody or control of any animal or property.
19. CHAMPION AND RESERVE CHAMPION AWARDS: In all Hunter Championships,
the titles shall be awarded to two of the four horses which have acquired the most
points over fences. In addition to these points, only these four horses shall receive full
points for ribbons won in Under Saddle classes and half points for ribbons won in
Model classes.
20. COURTESY CIRCLE: In all classes the Courtesy Circle may be restricted and will be
indicated on the course diagram and a corresponding barrier will be erected in the
area. The restriction of the Courtesy Circle will be announced at least one hour prior to
the class.
21. LATE CHARGES: All division entries received after closing dates will have a $25.00 late
charge.
22. JUMPING ORDER: Jumping order for jumper classes will be drawn in accordance with
USEF Article 2713.D.
23. OFFICE FEES: All entries showing more than one class will be assessed a $25.00 office
fee.
Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a
motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to
operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to golf carts,
motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of
licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate
the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an
adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual
who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a
motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages,
claims, or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be
cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) who are
responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion
of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition
grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against
any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and
other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt
from this rule.
General Information, Rules and Regulations
1. CLASS SPECIFICATIONS: Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and
specifications of the USEF, MHSA and VHSA Rule Books will be conducted and judged
in accordance therewith.
2. ENTRIES: All fees must be paid in U.S. funds by cash or check. Entry forms must be
filled out completely, including all classes or divisions entered, signatures, social security
or ID numbers and organization membership numbers before numbers can be issued.
Exhibitors are responsible for their own errors and those of their agents in preparation
of their entry forms. See entry blank for each show for closing date of entries. Entry fees
and stall fees must be paid before numbers can be issued. Late entries will be accepted
with a penalty charge. Cross entries are permitted except as noted in class specifications
and/or prohibited by USEF and MHSA. Mail entries with checks payable to each
individual horse show to: Streett Moore, McDonogh School, 8600 McDonogh Road,
Owings Mills, MD 21117
3. ENTRY FORMS: Care should be taken to enter each horse in its proper class or division.
The description on the entry form must fully identify the horse. Phone entries will not
be accepted.
4. ENTRIES ACCEPTED: Four entries, unless otherwise stated, are necessary to fill a
class, or the class may be declared void. The Show reserves to itself the right to decline
any entry, and to return any entry fees before or during the Show without being liable
for compensation and to change location, combine, cancel, add or limit any classes or
officials.
5. REFUNDS: After the show starts, with a dated official veterinarian’s or doctor’s
certificate only, refunds will be given for those classes in which the horse or rider is
unable to participate. Refunds will not be given for those entered classes which have
taken place before the veterinarian certificate and scratch are recorded in the show
office.
6. RETURNED CHECKS: Accounts will be given 5 days to be paid in full by check, cash
or cash equivalent or they will be reported to the USEF under Rule Section 9. $25.00 fee
for each returned check.
7. MEASUREMENT AND AMATEUR CARDS: All Junior and Pony Hunters must
possess a current USEF measurement card. All Amateur Owner riders must present
their cards before numbers may be picked up. To speed processing, enclose photocopies
of these cards with entries. Junior and Pony Hunters will be measured, starting one hour
prior to starting time of show on the first day Juniors or Ponies show.
8. RESPONSIBILITY: All owners and exhibitors shall be held responsible for any damage
incurred by them, their agents or employees to stalls (including stall doors), buildings
and other properties on the show grounds and shall be billed accordingly.
9. PREMIUM CHECKS: Prize money will be paid in the show office by credit to the
horse’s account. Prize money in excess of entry fees will be paid to the owner or record
by check within 30 days of the show.
10. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: All exhibitors must present a Negative Coggins Test
report taken within one (1) year on each animal brought onto the show grounds in
order to be admitted; to speed processing, send a copy with your entry blank.
11. STABLING: Stall fees must be paid in full by cash or check and received in the horse
show office or postmarked by the closing date of entry. Stalls will be made available on

hinges and labor to replace it,
12. CAMPER HOOKUPS: A limited number of camper hookups are available at $75 per
show with water and electrical hookups. All campers must abide by State laws governing
RV equipment and disposal of waste water.

The NAL/WIHS Jumper Classics will be run under USEF Table II, Sec. 2 (a/b). Time
First Jump Off. the first round and first jump off, if any, are decided by adding together
the faults incurred over the course and any penalties for exceeding the Time Allowed.
In the event of equality of faults after the first round, there will be a one jump-off for
first place only in which the time will decide in the event of equality of faults. To be
shown over a course of approximately 10 jumps.
USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT
Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at
Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined
Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and
Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent,
coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions,
Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 nonmember
registration fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this
rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and
academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program);
6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining
Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of
current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice
division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.
FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT
By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee,
Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself
and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws
and Rules of The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the “Federation”) and the local rules
(Competition). I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition.
I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules,
and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors
and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or
participate under the Rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as
a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Federation and/or the Competition
may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable-casts, broadcasts, internet, film, new media or
other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion,
coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used
to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I
hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including
any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. The
construction and application of Federation rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York,
and any action instituted against the Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR908.4.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to interpret all questions and conditions in regard
to, or arising out of, or incident to the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind.
All questions not covered in the Rules and Regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show
Management; their decision to be final. The Horse Show Management reserves the right to refuse,
accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition
of entries and cancel award prizes without claim for damages; to change any course, to cancel or
combine any unfilled classes, or to reschedule classes, after due notice to exhibitors; to change rings
or rotate judges; to change specifications in jumper classes as competition warrants. Every horse
entered for competition will comply with the rules of the Horse Show Management, but the Show
Management will, in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur; and it shall be
a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold this horse show, their directors and employees,
and the officials and the officials and employees of the show blameless for any loss or accident to his
horse(s), employee(s) or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise.
