companies of the automobile and agricultural machinery industry and for systems providers in the electronics sector.
Position and tasks:
• Maintenance and extension of a state-of-the-art development toolchain for the installation and system administration of 500 developer- and
test-workstations (Linux, RH Enterprise & SW-Development settings) in an R&D environment
• Ensuring of a high level of automation in the field of installation and deployment
• Adaptation and continuous optimization of the existing workstation virtualization infrastructure
• Strengthening of our experienced team of about 30 system and software engineers
• Close collaboration with a worldwide leading technology group
Profile:
• Degree in computer engineering, software engineering or comparable qualifications
• Profound knowledge in the area Linux (RH Enterprise) as well as Virtualization (KVM)
• Experience in the automation of software installations (kickstart), RPM package management, network set-up
• Good program knowledge in the domain of Scripting (e.g. Python, Ruby)
• Experience with Configuration management tools (Nexus, Puppet, Chief) would be a plus
• Ideally first experience with agile processes of development (e. g. Scrum, DevOps, Continuous integration)
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Independent way of working, analytic and conceptual abilities, team ability
