Parler des monarques et des titres de noblesse.
Queen Elizabeth II is Prince Charles's mother.
The Duke of York is the Queen's son.
I – REPÉRER & COMPRENDRE :
Dans les exemples, entoure en rouge l'article "the".
Dans les exemples, souligne en vert les prénoms.
 Lorsque l'on met le prénom après le titre de noblesse,
l'article "the" n'apparaît pas.
En français on traduira : Queen Elizabeth II par : la reine Elisabeth 2 .
 Lorsque l'on parle de la fonction de la personne, sans la nommer, alors
l'article "the" apparaît

Henry VIII was born in 1491 in Greenwich, in London. He died in 1547 in
London.
He reigned from 1509 to 1547.
Henry VIII had 6 wives : Catherine of Aragon was his first wife, Anne Boleyn was
his second wife… He divorced Catherine of Aragon and Anne of Cleves. Anne
Boleyn and Catherine Howard were beheaded.
He had 3 children : 2 daughters (Mary and Elizabeth) and 1 son (Edward).
Henry was Mary’s father. Edward was Henry’s son. Henry was Anne Boleyn’s
husband. Catherine of Aragon was Henry’s wife. Jane Seymour was Edward’s

Pour parler d’événements passé j’utilise le preterit.
Il existe 2 sortes de verbes : les réguliers et les irréguliers.
1°) Les verbes réguliers
A la forme affirmative la marque du passé est -ED Elle est à la fin du verbe.
A la forme négative ou interrogative j’utilise l’auxiliaire DID suivi de la base
verbale.
2°) Les verbes irréguliers
Je dois les apprendre par coeur , je les trouve dans le livre p 156-157
LE PRETERITE
EXERCICES
Conjugue les verbes suivant au préterite, tous ces verbes sont réguliers :
Henry VIII REIGNED (REIGN) a long time, he LOVED (LOVE) women so he MARRIED
(MARRY) 6 times. He DIVORCED (DIVORCE) twice and he BEHEADED (BEHEAD) two
of his wives because he WANTED (WANT) a baby boy! He PLAYED (PLAY) tennis very
well !
Conjugue les verbes suivant au préterite, attention certains sont irréguliers, tu as
besoin de prendre ton livre p 156/157 :
Henry VIII HAD (HAVE) 6 wives and 3 children. He BECAME (BECOME) king in 1509
and DIED (DIE) in 1547. He HAD (HAVE) 2 daughters and a son: Mary WAS (BE)
Catherine of Aragon’s daughter, Anne Boleyn WAS (BE) Elizabeth’s mother and Edward
WAS Jane Seymour’s son.
Edward, Mary and Elizabeth all BECAME (BECOME) king or queen one day.
