Echantillon du paysage/environement urbain
Des images nées de la matière
«La surface de chaque matériau comporte plusieurs épisodes : les composants micromorphologiques du matériau et les choses inattendues qui lui sont arrivées. Chaque
matériau réagit de façon différente au temps et aux conditions de son milieu. Il porte
les marques du temps, de l’usure et de l’outil avec lequel on l’a travaillé. Je me suis
d’abord servi de ces observations d’ordre visuel et ai étudié les surfaces des matériaux
qui constituent le paysage / environnement urbain aujourd’hui : bois, métal, plastique,
papier. Ce procédé m’a permis de créer cinq « Échantillons ».
Dans certains de ces échantillons, certaines particularités ont été mises en avant et en
relief au crayon : trous, éraflures, graffitis, coups de pinceau, des résidus laissés par le
feu, et des traces laissées par le corps humain.
Dans d’autres, on a dessiné les formes aléatoires se trouvant sur chaque surface à l’aide
d’un crayon fin, révélant ainsi les images qui naissent de la matière elle-même.»
