Erica Ehm
Erica Ehm is famous for being the voice of
her generation—one of MuchMusic’s very first VJs. With a
multimedia career than spans two decades, she has been
recognized as a talented actor, playwright, author, and journalist, and is a two-time Juno Award-winning songwriter
and now the founder/publisher of the Yummy Mummy
Club, a sexy online magazine for women with children. She
claims that kids Josh and Jessie, along with husband Terry,
made her the “yummy mummy” she is today, but despite
all the success of her glamorous life, she confesses that her
dream was to be a cowgirl…
“I love the simplicity and truth of the myth of what a
cowgirl represents. So my girlfriend Victoria and I met in
the middle of the country with our gear (jeans, chaps, cowboy boots, and hats) and spent four days in Banff, riding
on a single-file path through the mountains, with cowboys.
We were living and sleeping in the mountains, eating cowboy food, and drinking coffee out of tin cups by the fire.
The cowboys were charming and shared stories about their
lives, but the best part was when they found out that we
could actually ride. They would let us gallop around the
free horses grazing in the fields at the end of the day. What
could be better? I was living my dream.”
Erica Ehm a connu la célébrité comme l’une
des toutes premières VJ de MuchMusic. Depuis, on a
reconnu son talent d’actrice, de dramaturge, de journaliste
et d’auteure-compositrice (ce dernier lui ayant valu deux prix
Juno). Elle est aujourd’hui fondatrice et éditrice de YummyMummyClub.ca, un magazine électronique sexy pour les
mamans. Erica prétend que, si elle est devenue une « yummy mummy », c’est grâce à ses enfants Josh et Jessie, sans
oublier son mari Terry. Mais elle avoue avoir rêvé d’être
cow-girl, malgré la gloire de sa vie haute en couleur…
« J’adore la simplicité et la véracité qu’incarne le mythe de
la cow-girl. C’est pourquoi mon amie Victoria et moi avons
passé quatre jours dans la campagne de Banff, en jeans,
jambières, chapeaux et bottes de cow-boy. Nous avons
monté nos chevaux sur un étroit sentier de montagne, en
compagnie de cow-boys. Nous avons vécu et dormi dans
les montagnes, mangé et bu du café autour du feu. Les
cow-boys nous ont raconté leur vie. D’ailleurs, ils étaient très
surpris de voir que nous savions monter! Ils nous laissaient
galoper autour des chevaux libres qui paissaient dans les
champs. C’était merveilleux, je réalisais mon rêve!»
