Chine,époque Song, bols dans leur cassette de cuisson.
Ces bols en porcelaine Jian ou Qingbai (blanc bleuté en Chinois) dans leur cassette de cuisson
ou casette) proviennent de fouilles d'anciens fours.
Les bols étaient mis à cuire dans les cassettes en terre réfractaire empilées l'une l'autre dans le
four. La forme des cassettes était adaptée à la forme des pièces en porcelaine qu'elles
contenaient. La mise à feu en fours n'était alors pas la science exacte que c'est aujourd'hui
avec l'utilisation des fours électriques. Si la température devenait trop chaude les pièces de
porcelaine pouvaient se déformer et fléchir, le lustre pouvait fondre et coller la pièce ou même
une pile de cassettes pouvait se décaler et même s'effondrer.
Ces objets sont de valeur inestimable pour des recherches car ils nous montrent vraiment la
technique de cuisson de la céramique de la dynastie des Song mais aussi pour tous les
amateurs grâce à leur esthétique confrontant le matériau brut de la terre au raffinement de la
porcelaine.

Chine, Song period, bowls in saggars
Those rare Chinese Song Dynasty Jian or Qingbai Porcelain Cup in their Kiln Saggar are from
the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1127). Kiln saggars still containing their porcelain
cups were excavated from old kiln. Such items were fired in saggars (the fireproof clay case)
that were stacked on top of each other in the kiln. Firing in kilns was then, of course, not the
exact science that it is now, with today's use of electric and gas-fired kilns. If the temperature
became too hot the porcelain items could warp and sag, the glaze may run or even a stack of
saggars could shift and possibly collapse, resulting in the porcelain items becoming fused to

the saggar in which they were being fired. These items are invaluable for research purposes as
they show us how Song Dynasty ceramics were fired, not only simply placing each item in its
saggar, but supporting it within the saggar on a variety of pads. The appeal of such items is
not only to the academically minded, but also to anyone who appreciates the artistic and
decorative nature of these wonderful items. The saggars containing Qingbai bowls have a flat
base and saggars for Jian, as saggars containing more shallow items such as bowls & dishes,
usually have a cone-shaped base to reduce the space taken when they are stacked.

这些宋代建窑碗和青白瓷碗处于烧陶之中出土于宋代老窑。
当时，在瓷器烧造过程中还没有电子控温设备，窑内瓷器随时面临着或变形或爆裂的
危险。一旦窑内出现相关事故，很有可能造成整窑瓷器的报废。于是，宋人在瓷器之
间设有烧陶等装置以便提高瓷器烧造的成功率。
该组瓷器地体现了宋代的瓷器烧造过程，兼具精巧与古拙之美。所有瓷器均经过热释
光年代测试。
