The eastern half of the country is dealing with a sizable heat wave.
Check out today’s hot spot forecast: a hundred (degrees) in New York, a hundred and two in Boston
and Washington, a hundred and three in Baltimore.
It wasn’t this hot when we left Georgia, not this hot!
Another day of near-record heat. It’s tough for those who work outdoors.
You can definitely feel the humidity, it’s hot!
Especially if you’re in the thick of it; these Virginia firefighters need their own medical team.
Monitoring the BP, ah, heart rate and the, ah, issues with vital signs to make sure that those people are able to
go back into the fire.
Connecticut had to close beaches; it got too crowded with people seeking relief.
Look at this – there’s nowhere to sit!
A heat wave usually lasts at least five days. Meteorologists say this one will be longer.
It’s gonna continue for five, six, seven, even eight days in a row.
The air quality is poor.
That’s a danger for babies and seniors. New York opened one hundred cooling centers so far; five hundred more
opened today.
Tracey Potts, NBC News, Washington
100 degrees Fahrenheit = 37.8 degrees centigrade, but it’s the humidity that is uncomfortable!
